Chapter 2 - A prodigy who died young

Hello, friends from the other continent. As of last night, 248 readers have read my book. I sincerely thank you all. I wish you a smooth life, academic success, a happy family, good health and a smile always on your face.

It's my honor to be friends with all of you on the other side of the ocean. I'm so happy that I can't sleep. I got up very early today and worked hard to write, just hoping to get along better with everyone.

Before we officially start today's story, I'll first explain to you some of the questions from yesterday.

Why do I tell everyone that I'm going to tell the story of Huang Chao, but when it comes to the main text, the male lead's name becomes Huang Lang?

That's because his name is considered taboo in China. Even a three-year-old child who is crying will stop crying when he hears his name. The broadsword slashed for three days, and the blood in Chang 'an never ceased. When I was asking my AI assistant for help to translate my text into English, it refused me. The reason is that the blood debt on Huang Chao in history was too thick. I shouldn't tell my friends on the other side of the ocean about such a demon king from hell. So in the main text, I changed his name to Huang Lang.

Alright, no more chitchat. Let's get back to the main point.

Yesterday we talked about the discussion between Priest Li and Huang Lang about their life aspirations.

So who is the Priest Li we are talking about?

I wonder if all the friends on the other side of the ocean have heard of Li Bai, the poet immortal of the Tang Dynasty. He had the imperial concubine grind his shoes for him in the court and had Gao Lishi take off his shoes for him.

Here I'll briefly introduce this story to my friends.

Gao Lishi was a powerful figure in the imperial court during the reign of Emperor Xuanzong and was his most trusted confidant. Yang Guifei was the companion of Emperor Xuanzong of Tang. Li Bai once got drunk and sang loudly at a banquet. He said he wanted to write a poem, but his shoes were uncomfortable. He asked General Gao Lishi to take them off for him and asked Concubine Yang Yuhuan to polish them for him. The emperor, recognizing his talent, agreed. That's why this beautiful story came about.

Li Bai was born during the most prosperous period of the Tang Dynasty. He was the greatest and most romantic poet in the five-thousand-year history of China and was later hailed as the "Poet Immortal".

The Priest Li we are talking about was originally named Li He. Li He is the poet who is as renowned as the "Poet Immortal" Li Bai.

Li Bai, the "Poet Immortal", was romantic, proud and stood in the sky. He died for love and romance until his death. Even when Li Bai died, there was a beautiful story about him throwing himself into the lake and embracing the moon. He didn't die; his soul returned to the moon palace to embrace the moon.

Li He, the "Poet Ghost", is realistic, painful and torturous.

When Li He was young, he was so talented and passionate.

At the age of six, Li He was already a child prodigy renowned throughout Chang 'an.

When Han Yu was twelve years old, he would always pay a visit to this twelve-year-old child prodigy. Han Yu was a literary giant, a prime minister of the Tang Dynasty, and also the uncle of a Chinese immortal named Han Xiangzi.

At the age of seventeen, when we talked about several young men sitting together to discuss their life aspirations in the previous chapter, Li He was eager to pass the imperial examination and become a good official who could do good deeds for the people and ensure that all the people in the world had enough to eat. It was at that time that he wrote, "To repay your kindness on the Golden platform, I will carry the Jade Dragon to die for you!" It is a timeless masterpiece.

But what about the ending? He was reported for "avoiding the taboo" and was never allowed to take the imperial examination. His path up the ladder was cut off.

The late Tang Dynasty was a sad time. Such talents were all scattered far and wide, feeling frustrated and unfulfilled.

Later, those in power felt sorry for him and gave Li He a minor official position in charge of sacrifices. It is to write some poetry collections that conform to etiquette when communicating with ghosts and gods. Poor Li He spent his entire life thinking about making achievements for the living and enabling more people to live a good life. But in the end, he had to be accompanied by ghosts and gods. Apart from ghosts and gods, no one appreciated or understood him anymore. In this way, his hair turned white and his spirit dissipated. When a person's spirit scatters, they die. So at the age of 27, in the prime of his life, he passed away without any illness.

In such a world, even the favored children of heaven have no way to survive. How can we ordinary people like Huang Lang, whose lives are as insignificant as grass, survive? How did he manage to kill everyone?

To find out what happens next, please stay tuned for the next episode.

Dear friends far across the ocean, see you tomorrow.
