Chapter 1 - Shadow Rebirth 2

The night was cold… and filled with gunshots. Arin was running. His breath was heavy, his body covered in blood, and his vision slowly fading. Just a few minutes ago, he was the most feared mafia boss in the city. Now, he was nothing but a dying man. "Damn it…" he whispered. Sirens echoed in the distance. His enemies had finally cornered him. He laughed weakly. "So this is how it ends…" A final gunshot rang out. Darkness swallowed everything. But then… Light. Blinding white light. Arin suddenly opened his eyes. "…What?" He was lying on a soft bed. The air smelled different—clean, fresh… royal. He quickly sat up and looked around. A massive room. Golden decorations. Silk curtains. "This isn't a hospital…" Before he could think further, the door opened. A maid rushed in and bowed. "Your Highness! You're finally awake!" Arin froze. "Your… Highness?" He looked at his hands. Small. Young. Not his body. "…What the hell is going on?" Memories suddenly flooded his mind. This body belonged to someone else. A prince. A useless, weak, ignored prince of a powerful kingdom. Prince Arin Valen. A boy who was hated by the court… and was about to be removed from the line of succession. Arin slowly smiled. "A second life… huh?" His eyes turned cold. "In my last life, I ruled the underworld…" He stood up, his presence suddenly changing. "But this time…" He looked at his reflection in the mirror. "I'll rule a kingdom." Later that day… Arin walked into the royal hall. Nobles whispered among themselves. "Look, the useless prince is here." "He won't last long." "The king will disown him soon." Arin heard everything. But he didn't react. Instead, he walked forward calmly and sat down. For the first time— The entire hall went silent. Because something felt… different. The King spoke. "Arin. You have one last chance. Prove your worth… or lose everything." Everyone smirked. They expected him to fail. But Arin simply smiled. "Your Majesty," he said confidently, "give me one month." "If I fail… I'll leave the throne forever." The court burst into laughter. But the King's eyes narrowed. "…And if you succeed?" Arin's smile turned dangerous. "Then I take back everything that belongs to me." That night… Arin stood alone on the palace balcony. The wind blew softly. He looked at the dark sky. "This world…" he whispered, "is full of power, politics, and betrayal." He clenched his fist. "Perfect." A faint shadow began to move behind him… Almost like it was alive. Arin's eyes glowed slightly. "In this life…" "I won't just survive." "I'll dominate."
