Lila sat cross-legged on her bed, scrolling through her phone. Each swipe made her heart sink a little more. Girls her age had lives she could only dream of—glamorous outfits, luxury vacations, thousands of adoring followers. Her own life felt gray in comparison.
"This can't be all there is," she whispered. She had a small apartment, a part-time job at a café, and friends who didn't understand her ambition. She wanted more.
