Chapter 1 - The Book I

I sit down within my small messy apartment, organising the digital documents for my business suggestion tomorrow, I groan annoyed at the sheer amount of work ahead of me, my tired blue eyes blink making an effort to stay open.

I sigh as I flop onto the hard bed, my consciousness slowly drifting away, suddenly my body stiffens chills running through my spine I yell in shock, while the neighbours bang the wall in order for silence.

I tilt my head confused, the memories of the passion novel I wrote as a teen flooding my mind, from every word and arc.

"What the hell…?" I whisper under my breath panicking slowly.

I try to ignore the surging memories, my head throbing from pain, in a shot my alarm clock begins to ring as loudly as possible, distracting me from the pain.

"Did I spend three hours remembering my silly story…?" I get up from my rock hard bed " it felt like a few minutes…?" I pack up my office bag then take a shower.

As i step into the bus and get to my way to the office I open an old file 'The Merge.pdf' on my phone.

I cringe as i skim through the novel I wrote, I was definitely a weird kid no wonder i got bullied.

The bus gets to a stop its wheels slowing down, i get off, suddenly the earth shakes heavily the blue sky tearing open revealing a crimson red void…monsters from dragons and goblins land on the floor after escaping the gate, people panicking and fleeing and running over each other, the weak tumble and get stomped on by the crowd of afraid humans.

I stand there in disbelief…isn't this the exact same scene as the cringe book I wrote, from the chaos and yells to the trembling buildings it all matches my old teenage imagination, my fists tremble slightly trying to think of something of an escape or a way to stop this.

An old rusty pipe gleams under the rubble of rocks, I pick up the old pipe and begin to swing it, my new weapons is quite heavy i sigh.

In the blink of an eye, the red gate cuts through reality sending out dozens of goblins, I try to analyse the situation, my novel flashes around me the words floating in the air, I then find the weakness of these four foot viscous creatures among the flying words.

I pull out my phone and find my music player as quickly as possible, then i blast one of my J-pop favourites at the highest volume, the goblins screeching from pain trying to flee yet I bang their heads with my good old pipe…over ten goblins lay unconscious on the floor, I squeal excitedly for i never knew I had this power within me.

"Wow…I actually did all this…?" I stare down at the almost dead goblins…my thoughts get to a stop…when a tall man around my age arrives and slashes all the goblins with one swing of his sword.

There is no other human at the beginning of the merge who has this amount of power except for Joon-ho…the main character of my book The Merge…

"Oh what do we have here..?…someone blasting pop songs…and knows the exact weakness of these pests..wow..!" Joon-ho laughs mockingly as he looks around the mess I made with my song and pipe.

Seriously I regret writing the great warrior of my book with such an attitude and ego…did teen me really wanted to balance his over powered abilities with madness.

"Ummm…just leave me alone…" I stutter as I step back trying to escape Joon-ho's suspicious gaze.

Joon-ho gets closer his blade ready to slash my throat, he chuckles madly as i try to find an escape.

"Look i have the ability to see the future…that's my..gift, so Joon-ho…let me be.." I lift my hands up as a sign of peace, Joon-ho's face twists letting out a scary smile.

He lowers his blade the twisted smile still in place, I begin to admire Joon-ho's features i did describe him as the most handsome human in the universe but I never imagined he would be this good looking…

I lower my pipe and start to speak trying to mask my expression of excitement for meeting the main character of the book I wrote was more than a miracle.
