Chapter 23 - CHAPTER 22-HE IS NOT THAT

The night air was heavy around the Hornet estate. Inside the garage, Tarus worked late, his hands covered in grease and sparks flashing from the half-open chest plate of his upgraded suit. The Hornet car rested behind him, its polished body gleaming under the dim light. For Tarus, these late hours were normal—moments of silence before the storm. But tonight, the silence broke. At the gates, a figure approached slowly, his steps uneven, his body bent as though weighed down by the world. The guards stiffened, ready to raise their weapons. The man was recognizable even in the dark—tattered clothes, scarred face, eyes once glowing with demon fire.Homeless.The guards looked to Tarus, waiting for an order. Instead of raising his hand for attack, Tarus walked out himself, wiping the grease from his palms. His eyes locked onto Homeless, filled with caution.

Tarus: "You? Here? After everything you did?"

Homeless (hoarse): "I didn't come to fight. I came… to warn you."

The Warning:

Moments later, the two men sat across from each other in the garage. Tarus stood tall, arms folded, while Homeless sat hunched on the bench, his hands shaking, his face pale. The smell of smoke and dust clung to him, as though he had carried the storm inside his body and only now was free.

Homeless: "The demon—Malakar—is gone. He left me."

Tarus frowned. "What do you mean 'gone'?"

Homeless: "He wanted me to kill without reason. To burn people who had nothing to do with my pain. He whispered, day and night, 'tear the city apart.' But I refused him. I told him no. My fight was for my family, for the truth of what happened on that train—not for senseless killing."

He paused, his voice cracking. "He got angry. Furious. He called me weak. Then… he tore himself out of me. He left my body, ripped his way free like fire breaking through stone. And now…" He looked up, his eyes trembling. "He has found someone else. Dynamo's owner. The man who already hates you. Now Malakar has money, machines, and power. He will use Dynamo as his weapon."

Tarus's Doubt:

The garage was silent except for the hum of machines. Tarus studied him, his jaw tight.

Tarus: "You destroyed lives when you had Malakar inside you. You burned the city. You spread fear. And now you expect me to believe you're suddenly free?"

Homeless lowered his head. For a long moment, he said nothing. Then he whispered, "I know what I've done. I know the blood on my hands. But Tarus… without the demon, I finally see it clearly. I was his cage, his puppet. I thought I had control, but I was wrong. Now I am only a man again. Weak, yes. But human."He looked Tarus in the eyes. "I don't want revenge against you. I want to stop him. Because if Malakar uses Dynamo, he will be stronger than ever. If you try to fight him alone, you will lose."

Back to normal man:

Tarus:First i should change your appearance and make you healthy.

Homeless:For the first time i got a huge help in my life.

Tarus:From now you are no longer beggar, you are my family member.

(Tears appeared in Homeless's eye andhe came near to Tarus for hugging him but Tarus stepped backwards)

Tarus:Hug me after bathing.

( Homeless laughed.Mia,Elia and Pearce came out)

Pearce:Who is this?

Tarus:Homeless.

Mia:What?

Elia:The demon?

Tarus:No,he was the vessel of a demon. Now he is an ordinary man. From now he is our family member, and we both will defeat Malakar the demon.

Pearce:What?

Tarus:We both will stand together.

Elia:Great.

Tarus:Let my new brother inside and give him food.

Tarus had alotted a seperate room for homeless. There Homeless bathed and came to the dining room.He ate well with his new family and went to sleep.

Next day:

Tarus took Homeless to saloon and made Homeless more stylish.Next they went to a clothing store and purchased more dress for Homeless. Then they went to home.Tarus said his worker to arrange the new dresses in Homeless's room. The family members got shocked by seeing his new look.

The Choice:

Tarus's mind raced. Every memory of their last fight flashed before him—the shadows, the fire, the screams of people running. His instincts screamed not to trust. Yet the man before him looked broken, stripped of power, speaking not like a monster but like someone desperate to make things right. Finally, Tarus stepped forward. His shadow stretched across the garage floor as he extended a hand.

Tarus: "If you are telling the truth, then we fight him together. But hear me, Homeless—betray me even once, and I will stop you myself."

Homeless stared at the hand, as if he had forgotten what trust looked like. Slowly, he reached out and gripped it. His voice was low but steady.

Homeless: "I am not your enemy anymore. I am done being Malakar's puppet. If the demon wants war, then let him face both of us."

A New Alliance:

For the first time, the two stood not as rivals, but as allies. One was a man of steel, armed with technology, light, and willpower. The other was a scarred survivor, carrying the memory of the demon and knowledge of its power. They did not speak further. They did not need to.Outside, the city lights flickered. In the distance, Dynamo's towers shone bright like false stars. Inside one of those towers, Malakar was smiling through the face of his new host, ready to turn the whole empire into his army. The world was heading toward a storm. But now, Tarus would not face it alone. And Homeless, for the first time in years, was no longer just a vessel. He was a fighter—standing beside a man who once swore to stop him.Together, they had lit the first spark of trust in the dark.
