Chapter 4 - The ALPHAS Forsaken Luna: BUT SHE RETURNED AS A QUEEN

Chapter 4: The Queen Returns (The Night of Reckoning)

The grand hall looked like something out of mythology, a space gilded for gods. Crystal chandeliers glittered overhead, bathing the marble floors in warm gold. Every corner screamed money and power. Tonight, the business elite and the supernatural big names rubbed elbows at the Luna Queen Gala—a night for recognizing only the most influential women.

There was music in the air, gentle and soothing, but under all that charm, you could feel the tension.

Seraphina stood at the far end, impossible to miss. That crimson gown hugged her perfectly, and her smile was smug as she twirled her wine. Diamonds on her fingers caught the light, almost blinding. Next to her, Clara's parents seemed just as decked-out, but their pride wasn't about their daughter. No, it was about the fortune they thought was coming.

"Tonight's the night," Seraphina murmured, swirling her wine. "Once I get this contract with the Luna Queen, everything lines up. The Alpha's business… his power… all of it's ours."

Clara's mother flashed a greedy grin. "We always knew you'd make it. Unlike… her."

Her. The daughter they'd tossed aside. The Luna they helped ruin.

Seraphina's lips curled into a satisfied smirk. "She was weak. Too trusting. That's why she died."

Low laughter. None of them saw what was really heading their way.

The music dipped.

A hush blanketed the room.

The entrance doors creaked open.

And then—

Clara walked in.

But this wasn't the Clara they remembered.

Nope.

She wore a sapphire gown that shimmered like the night, every movement deliberate and commanding. Her chin lifted just so, her gaze sharp—almost icy. Diamonds set off her skin, but honestly, nothing outshined the power radiating from her.

Everything around her shifted.

Heads turned.

Whispers burst across the room.

"Who is she?"

"That energy…"

"She's… Luna Queen…"

Seraphina froze in place.

Her hand slipped, nearly dropping the glass.

Her heart stopped cold.

"No…" she barely managed, voice shaky. "Impossible…"

Clara's parents went pale.

"She's… dead…" her father stammered.

But Clara—the real Clara—was very much alive.

And she walked straight toward them.

Each step sounded like a clock striking midnight.

Clara's heels tapped the marble—quiet, but somehow thunderous.

She locked eyes with Seraphina.

Cold. Unforgiving. Unshakeable.

She stopped just in front, lips pulling into a smile that was sharp, not friendly.

"Miss me?" she said, calm as ever.

The words landed like a slap.

Seraphina faltered, backing away. "Y-you… this isn't real, it's a trick!"

Clara cocked her head, almost amused. "A trick? Is that how you justified poisoning me?"

The crowd rippled with gasps.

Clara's parents traded desperate looks.

"You're lying!" Clara's mother snapped, panic creeping in. "Our daughter's dead! You're just pretending!"

Clara laughed. Quiet, but cutting.

"Attention? Is that what you think?"

Her voice cooled, hardening.

"I didn't come for attention."

She moved in closer.

"I came for justice."

Seraphina's shock shifted fast—now she was furious.

Her pride wouldn't let her back down.

"Oh please," she snorted, voice rising so everyone could hear. "Pretending to be the Luna Queen? You don't just grab that title."

Clara stayed calm, which only seemed to rile Seraphina more.

"What, you think the dress makes you tough?" Seraphina spat. "You're still the same weak girl I—"

SLAP!

The sound was sharp enough to silence the crowd.

Seraphina's head snapped aside, her face ablaze.

Clara lowered her hand, steady.

"That," she said, the words soft but loaded, "is for the poison."

Everyone held their breath.

Seraphina wasn't giving in.

Rage took over.

"How dare you!" she shrieked, snatching a wine glass. "You think you can walk in and humiliate me?!"

She hurled the glass.

Before anything could hit Clara—

A hand reached out.

Quick. Protective.

The wine landed on a black suit.

Adrian.

He moved in front of Clara, chest heaving and stained, eyes locked on hers.

Shock. Disbelief. Something more.

"Clara…?" His voice trembled.

The world just… stopped.

For a moment, only the two of them existed.

Clara nodded, calm. "Yes. I'm alive."

Seraphina clenched her fists.

"No!" she shrieked. "It's all lies! She's got you all fooled!"

But before anyone could react—

The doors opened again.

A man strode in—tailored suit, pure authority.

The room shifted.

Everyone knew him.

He represented the mysterious Luna Queen.

He went straight to Clara… and bowed, low and deep.

"Your Majesty."

The words rang out.

Shock exploded, spreading like wildfire.

Seraphina nearly collapsed.

"No… it can't be…"

Clara's parents gasped, panic etched on their faces.

"You… you're really…"

Clara turned, sweeping the room with her gaze.

"I am," she said, her voice clear and strong. "I'm the Luna Queen you've been waiting for."

Everything stilled.

Then chaos. Whispers everywhere, shock unraveling.

Seraphina's carefully built world started collapsing, brick by brick.

Clara stepped closer, eyes locked on Seraphina and her parents.

"You poisoned me," she said.

"You helped her," she turned to her parents.

Her mother cried, not for guilt—but for fear.

"We—we didn't mean—"

"Stop." Cold. Final.

"You knew exactly what you were doing."

She faced the crowd.

"They tried to kill me. They tried to take everything that was mine."

Murmurs rolled through.

Seraphina sank to her knees.

"Please… Clara… I made a mistake… I didn't mean—"

Clara didn't flinch.

She stepped in.

And then—

SLAP!

SLAP!

SLAP!

SLAP!

Four sharp slaps, each louder than the last.

Gasps everywhere.

"That's for every betrayal," Clara said, never wavering.

Security rushed in.

Police followed.

Seraphina screamed as they closed in.

"No! You can't! It's mine!"

Clara's parents begged.

"Please! We're family!"

Clara never looked back.

"Take them away."

And just like that—they were gone.

Silence settled.

Adrian stepped forward, haunted.

"I… I didn't know…" he said, barely audible. "I thought you were gone… I trusted her…"

Clara watched him—a long, almost sad look.

"You didn't just trust her," she said, her voice cool. "You replaced me."

That hit deep. Adrian dropped his head.

"I'm sorry…"

For a moment, the Luna Queen didn't say anything.

Then she moved toward him.

"I forgive you."

His head shot up.

"But," she added, soft but firm, "you'll have to earn me again."

And then, finally—

Clara smiled.

Not a victim.

Not broken.

A queen, through and through.
