Curses and Hexes

[Information on Curses, hexes and Summons will be updated according to Klaus' knowledge]

Curses: They are deliberate distortions of Spirit Energy, shaped by will, sacrifice, or higher authority.

Curses can be:

•Born from human actions

•Cast by Awakened individuals

•Granted or inflicted by deities

Unlike ordinary abilities curses do not fade easily. They persist, evolve, and often outlive their caster.

1. Cast Curses- These are curses deliberately placed on others using Spirit Energy. Only skilled Awakened can perform them, as they require:

•Precision control

•A clear intent

•A personal cost

Core Rule:

To curse another, you must sacrifice something of your own.

Examples:

•Curse of Barren Fate- Prevents the victim from producing offspring or creating legacy (can extend to business, influence, or bloodline)

Curse of Withered Limb- Causes gradual paralysis or loss of physical function.

•Curse of Bleeding Fortune- The victim's successes collapse at the last moment.

Combat Use:

Used in duels, assassinations, or political warfare. They are often subtle and hard to trace. They can bypass physical defenses entirely.

2. Exchange Curses - Power at a Price

These are the most dangerous and most tempting. A curse is willingly accepted in exchange for power. The caster embeds a curse into the target. The target gains a specific ability and the curse acts as a permanent cost or limiter.

Examples:

[Gain immense strength] body deteriorates over time

[Heightened perception ]constant sensory overload and madness

[Rapid healing]shortened lifespan

[Control over others] loss of free will in certain moments.

Key Detail:

These curses often tighten over time.

What begins as a fair trade becomes a slow descent into ruin.

3. Bloodline Curses- Inherited Sin.Some curses do not end with one person. They attach to families, names, or bloodlines, passing from generation to generation.

A powerful curse cast on an ancestor, broken oath or taboo and direct punishment from a deity.

4. Manifested Curses- These are born from Human Action. Not all curses are cast.

Some are created. When human actions reach extremes like betrayal, massacre, obsession, taboo-breaking, they can imprint a curse onto reality itself.

Examples:

A murderer's home becomes a cursed zone

A battlefield births restless, violent spirits

A forbidden ritual creates a lasting anomaly

5. Divine Curses - Judgment of Higher Beings. These are curses cast by fallen deities or higher entities.

They are:

Absolute, early impossible to remove and often symbolic in nature.

Examples:

[A man who sought immortality] cursed to never die, but constantly decay

[A truth-seeker] cursed to see truths that destroy sanity

[A betrayer] cursed to be betrayed in every life

Important:

These curses often feel like laws, not effects.
