Chapter 1 - Unnamed

I used to live in a mission hostel called Mostafa Nagar, located near Kaliyaganj. It was an old place, surrounded by tall trees and an eerie silence that deepened after sunset. But what made the hostel truly unsettling was something far more mysterious.

Along the boundary wall of the hostel stood a sacred spot—a place where people believed a living form of Goddess Kali resided. No one dared to go near it at night. Some whispered prayers when passing by, while others avoided looking at it altogether.

One night, something terrifying happened.

A boy from the hostel suddenly went missing. At first, no one noticed. But then, in the middle of the night, faint screams echoed through the darkness. The hostel guard, a brave old man, heard the cries. Without wasting a moment, he grabbed a flashlight and ran toward the sound.

As he reached the boundary wall, his heart nearly stopped.

There, under a large tree near the sacred Kali spot, the boy was tied with a heavy iron chain around his neck. He was struggling, crying for help, his voice shaking with fear. In front of him, something unexplainable seemed to be happening—an unseen force, or perhaps the so-called "living Kali," appeared to be preparing for a sacrifice.

The air felt heavy. The atmosphere was terrifying, as if something unnatural was about to occur.

The guard shouted loudly and rushed forward, shining his light directly at the scene. In that very moment, everything changed. Whatever presence was there seemed to vanish instantly.

He quickly untied the boy, who collapsed in fear and exhaustion. The boy had no clear memory of how he got there, only fragments of darkness and a strange force pulling him.

That night, the hostel fell into complete silence.

No one spoke much about what happened—but from that day on, the story spread quietly among the students. The place near the wall became even more feared.

Some believed it was just imagination.

Others believed something far more sinister had tried to claim a life that night.

But one thing was certain—

If the guard hadn't arrived in time, that boy might never have survived.
