Chapter 3
The Transfer
The paper lay in front of her.
White.
Clean.
Heavy.
Jay stared at it.
Her name already printed.
Everything already decided.
All that was left—
Was her signature.
Her hands trembled.
The pen felt too heavy.
"Sign it."
Jasfer's voice came from behind.
Cold.
Impatient.
Jay didn't move.
"Papa… please…"
Her voice was barely there.
"Don't make me do this…"
Silence.
Then—
"Do you think you have a choice?"
Jay closed her eyes.
Tears slipped down quietly.
No one wiped them.
No one cared.
She looked at the paper again.
Marriage.
A word that once meant something.
Now—
It felt like a chain.
"Sign it."
Sharper this time.
Jay's fingers tightened around the pen.
Her whole body felt numb.
Slowly…
She signed.
One stroke.
And everything ended.
Or maybe—
Everything began.
Jasfer immediately took the paper.
Checked it.
Satisfied.
"Good."
Jay looked at him.
Hoping—
For something.
Anything.
A hint of guilt.
A second of hesitation.
But there was nothing.
Just relief.
Like a burden was gone.
She looked away.
Her chest felt empty.
A sound of footsteps.
Heavy.
Uniform.
Jay turned slightly.
Security guards.
Not one.
Many.
Standing at the door.
Waiting.
"For me…?"
Her voice was small.
No one answered.
One of them stepped forward.
"Come."
That was it.
No explanation.
No kindness.
Just an order.
Jay looked at the house.
The same house where she suffered.
The same house she feared.
The same house she once called home.
And yet—
Leaving it didn't feel like freedom.
It felt like being sent somewhere worse.
She took a step.
Then another.
Her legs moved.
Even when her heart didn't want to.
She walked past Jasfer.
He didn't stop her.
Didn't look at her.
Didn't say goodbye.
Nothing.
Like she never existed.
Jay's lips trembled.
But she didn't cry again.
She had no tears left.
The guards surrounded her.
Not touching.
But controlling.
Guiding.
Escorting.
Like she was something valuable.
Or dangerous.
The door opened.
Bright light hit her eyes.
Cars waiting outside.
Black.
Silent.
Powerful.
Jay paused for a second.
This was it.
No going back.
One guard spoke again.
"Move."
Jay stepped forward.
She entered the car.
The door closed.
With a final sound.
The engine started.
And the house—
Disappeared behind her.
Slowly.
Until it was gone.
Jay looked out of the window.
Her reflection stared back.
Empty.
Lost.
Quiet.
She didn't know where she was going.
She didn't know what waited for her.
She only knew one thing—
She no longer belonged to herself.
The car kept moving.
Taking her—
To Keifer's world.
