Cherreads

Chapter 1 - chapter 1 - Red Wings

The rain soaked the forest, the cold air from the rain felt like it was piercing, and the wet roads made it difficult to walk.

"Tice Village huh? What a unique name"

The red-robed knight walked along the path, ahead of him was a village, although visibility was reduced due to the heavy rain, but even so, he can still be seen that in front of he there is a village.

The village had no defensive walls, only a wooden thorn fence, and the surrounding area appeared quite chaotic. Without thinking twice, the knight headed straight for the village chief's house. With directions from wet quest paper.

Knocked once, no answer, second knock still no answer, and before the third knock, the door opened, revealing a fairly old man.

"Thank goodness you made it. It's raining heavily, come on in. I'll talk about the quest."

The knight entered the house, following the old man.

"So, my job is just to kill the monsters that attack the village at night, right?"

"That's right, but according to what I stated on the quest paper, there are a lot of monsters..."

"No problem, the problem is, how much are you going to pay me?"

"It depends on your performance and the number of kills you make, the performance I'm talking about here is your performance in protecting this village"

"Fair enough, I'll talk about the best results. I'm, Towarta will not disappoint my customers."

Towarta turned around, he left the village head's house.

"Where are you going? You might catch a fever, come in"

"Fever won't affect me"

He walked straight ahead, lost in the pouring rain.

Walking on the wet ground reminded him of something, a flash appeared in his head.

"Like old time..."

The sound of footsteps was heard, and Towarta immediately turned around. It was the Golden Axe, Lune.

A knight in silver armor with gold stripes, carrying his large axe, he walked with dignity and an upright posture.

"The Red Wing, Towarta. You took this village's quest too huh? It looks like you're aiming for the pay offered."

"Stop calling me by nicknames, it sounds awkward. I'm interested in the pay, it's rare for a quest to offer pay that depends on performance or special conditions"

"What do you mean stop? Nicknames are a matter of pride!"

Nicknames are something everyone can get. But not many get official nicknames from the guild. Lune has his, and so has Towarta.

"Ah! How rude of me, I was just chatting at the village head's house, it wouldn't be comfortable to chat in heavy rain like this, right?"

"No thanks, I want to wait for the night somewhere else around the village"

"Then I have no more excuses, I'll go to the village head's house first then"

Lune left Towarta, leaving Towarta's back behind him without a word.

Lune, a narcissistic knight but on the other hand, he has such high honor but who would have thought he respects his conversation partner, ah never mind I'm too lazy to think about other people's character

Towarta continued his journey, following the village road. He wanted to get to know this village. Tice Village was one of the villages with extensive agricultural land, especially rice fields. This made Towarta curious, he quite likes the view of the rice fields...

Towarta, A child born in a land far from where he is now. Born as the son of one of the gods, he is categorized as a 'God Kin' his father was a god, while his mother was a human.

His current profession as a knight has nothing to do with his parents, becoming a knight was his own decision. Since childhood, he learned that his life would be long, because of that, he wanted to enjoy his long life by exploring the world, even so... He still felt something was missing, he felt empty

Towarta has actually only visited two countries, but in the two countries he has visited, most of them are experiencing conflict Making him not focus on learning what he can learn from there, but instead he learns how to fight and fighting experience.

Towarta, Towarta, Towarta!

The voice calling his name made Towarta aware from the world in his own head, the one calling was a girl

"It looks like you are enjoying this village, it's a beautiful village, isn't it? The view stretches out wide"

"Y-yeah"

"How many minutes have you been walking around? I've been looking for you."

"How long? I don't know"

"You seem distracted, anyway let's go back to the village chief's house. He wants to talk about plans for tonight."

Towarta nodded, immediately following her when the woman turned around and immediately walked away.

"Ah, it seems I haven't introduced myself, my name is Ari. I am the village head's daughter."

"I see"

"Is that your only response? You seem like a quiet person, am I wrong? Ah sorry, I was just guessing."

The girl said while laughing softly, her smile seemed to shine, her aura was so positive.

This is the second time Towarta has met a woman who is active in speaking, the last time he met a woman who was active in speaking was when he was in one of the villages he passed through on his journey.

"Ari? Nice name, it sounds good on you."

"Oh really? Thank you! I appreciate what you said, but I'll tell you, that sounds like you're trying to get close, you know?"

"I apologize!"

Towarta answered awkwardly, his cheeks were red but it wasn't visible because they were covered by his helmet.

On the other hand, Ari smiled warmly while looking Towarta straight in the eye.

As the two of them walked, the rain stopped, The sun's rays began to shine again through the clouds.

"Not all girls think like that, but if you want to approach them, don't be too obvious"

"Oh, or are you just awkward around women? That's normal, you know? It's okay! Oh look, we've arrived at my father's house, come on in!"
