Chapter 3 - The Guardian of the Threshold.

The plateau was silent now, yet the air vibrated with tension.

Lui Quiboloy stood upright, his chest still burning from the trial he had just survived. The light that had flared around him faded slowly, leaving a faint aura that whispered of his awakening. He felt different, more alive, more attuned to the world around him. Every heartbeat, every breath, resonated with the pulse of the realm.

Arthur Alpha stepped forward. "Your awakening is only the beginning," he said. "The first test revealed your potential, but it also drew attention. The Guardian awaits."

Lui's eyes narrowed. "Guardian? What is that? Another shadow like before?"

Arthur shook his head. "No. The Guardian of the Threshold is older than stars, older than the worlds themselves. It is neither mortal nor divine. It is the embodiment of the trials this world presents to those who would rise. You must face it, and you must survive. Only then will your true power begin to manifest."

Before Lui could respond, the air above the plateau shimmered violently. A figure descended, not walking, but gliding, surrounded by a radiant halo that warped the light around it. It had the form of a colossal humanoid, its features obscured by a helmet of white fire, its body etched with glowing sigils that seemed to shift with thought. Its eyes, when revealed, were deep voids that seemed to pierce his very soul.

Lui took a step back. Fear surged, but he steadied himself. He had faced a shadow before, and survived. He would face this. He had no other choice.

Arthur's voice echoed through the air. "Remember what you felt in the last trial. Power flows from will. Courage. Conviction. Strike not just with your body, but with your spirit."

The Guardian spoke, its voice a chorus of countless echoes. "Mortal, you step into the realm of the chosen. Prove yourself worthy or be dissolved into the nothingness from which you emerged."

Lui's hands clenched into fists. His heart pounded, but he felt the pulse of energy inside him respond. The warmth in his chest intensified, coursing through every limb. His senses sharpened, and for the first time, he felt the world bend to his awareness. The plateau, the air, even the Guardian itself seemed to recognize his presence.

The Guardian raised a massive arm, and the air trembled under its force. Time seemed to slow as it descended, aimed to strike with the weight of inevitability. Lui reacted instinctively, dodging at the last moment, feeling the wind of destruction pass mere inches from his body.

He could feel it now. The latent power Arthur had awakened in him responded. Light flared from his hands, forming a shimmering aura that wrapped around his body like armor. His fist hummed with energy. This was no longer mere instinct. This was the first manifestation of the strength within him.

The Guardian lunged again. Lui moved with a precision and speed he did not understand, dodging, countering, and striking. Each motion released bursts of energy, not fully controlled, but guided by his will. The Guardian faltered for the first time, staggering back under the force of Lui's awakening power.

Arthur observed silently, his eyes glowing faintly. "Good. You are beginning to understand. This power is not given freely. It is earned. Continue to fight with conviction, and you may survive this trial."

Lui's aura flared brighter than before, the air around him vibrating with unrestrained energy. He leaped forward, striking the Guardian with a blow infused with raw determination. The impact sent shockwaves through the plateau. The Guardian roared, a sound that shook the skies and echoed like thunder across infinite space.

But Lui did not falter. He had felt his strength, and he would push further. The first true battle of his awakening had begun, and he would not yield.

In the distance, Arthur's eyes glimmered with approval, and above the horizon, the faint shadow of a colossal figure watched silently. Prince Val Alpha. The architect of the first hero, the eternal presence that observed the rise of those who could shape destiny itself.

Lui Quiboloy clenched his fists. He was no longer a boy thrown into a strange world. He was a force in motion. A hero in the making.

And the Guardian would learn that even the oldest and most eternal challenges could not crush the spirit of one who refused to yield.
