Mason's POV
I'm stuck in this dead-end town for a Gamma meeting that could have been handled over the phone. The conference room smells like stale coffee and disappointment. The speaker drones on about territory boundaries while I tap my pen against the wooden table, counting the minutes until this torture ends.
When the meeting finally wraps up, I head straight for the coffee machine in the hallway. My patience is wearing thin with these mandatory gatherings.
"Rough session, huh?" One of the visiting Gammas approaches me, loosening his tie.
I give him a quick nod, not really in the mood for small talk.
"A few of us are hitting the local bar later tonight. You should come along." He slaps my shoulder like we're old friends.
I shrug in agreement. Maybe a drink will help me forget why I'm here. These meetings always come back to the same thing: protecting our Luna. The problem is, our Alpha refuses to choose one. Caleb's still holding onto hope that Riley will return.
