Riley's POV
I push my body beyond its limits, running for what feels like an eternity. Days blur together in a haze of exhaustion and desperation. Sleep becomes a luxury I allow myself only when my legs threaten to give out completely.
This nightmare has become my reality. Every muscle in my body screams in protest, a constant reminder of how far I've fallen. The need for a proper shower grows more urgent with each passing hour. My legs are caked with mud, my clothes stained beyond recognition from sleeping on the forest floor.
Caleb's hoodie clings to me like a second skin, his scent still faintly detectable beneath the layers of dirt and sweat. The familiar smell both comforts and tortures me. Each breath fills me with memories I'm not ready to face. I refuse to wash it, terrified of losing the last trace of him I have left.
