As they conspire to carry out their enemies extermination, their plans take an unexpected turn. Instead of vengeance, they discover emotions they never knew existed, for the very targets they sought to destroy. Embarking on an adventurous journey into uncharted waters, Sarit and Abyss confront not only the enemies they once sought to eliminate but also the deeper truths of their world, and themselves. In a realm where betrayal lurks beneath the waves, who will survive this battle? As they unravel the mysteries of a life never seen, they must navigate the complexities of their newfound feelings and decide what truly matters. Will they embrace their emotions, or will the tides of revenge wash them away? Author Note: Read through the first 8-9 chapters before judging, it gets better.

Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Overview

"Sarit"

I was like any other 'tail' of siren species you may be familiar with. Despite the fact that sirens themselves were not even originally sea creatures. Hailing from waters where sometimes one's own kind referred to us as Jiangshi or even Sang Khwa. Sometimes using our own language all together. The name need not matter as the understanding we held within us; possessing unique powers and tail fin of a whale.

Abyss was an Cecaelia sea creature, a type of octopus like dark depths phantom being. trying to blend in my only treasured companion. Having a somewhat darker class of sea creature. Abyss is the sweeter one between us despite his "species" known for their spears and ink; Their extroadinary power to de iluminate.

I've been told I'm from higher waters, originally an old class associated with the nymphs and naiads. I tend to find these myths as hard to believe as humans do our existence.

I much prefer to be more of a lone siren rather than a group pod member. My days usually spent trying to enact revenge and lure people to their deaths.

Sometimes, humans were tolerable when their strife matched that of my own. When they felt suicidal or lonely enough that even my company is better; I would lure them to the ocean and then drown them. Making them like me, my own kind.

At least they'd hurt less when it's over, than myself. Sirens are much to beautiful to not hunt people as people hunt us and other animals.

Abyss however, not baring the same hatred towards humans instead is united on the sense of us both pursuing our own revenges. Hurt extensively by a past we can't forget.

My best friend having a more fragile nature, also unlike his species. Often struggled to leave the depths to come to the surface.

Eventually with assistance, Abyss received intel where the group he seeks to destroy may be. According to what we were told and found, their group had come from Japanese english waters

Onyx was infamous for his wit at a young age. A real cliche I thought rolling my eyes. Abyss had hardened his eyes determined now. I knew I would support him when he made up his mind like this.

Onyx is their leader, a Hybrid Akkorokamui. What I know of these creatures is that they do not acclimate well nor blend in the best with the climate of our warm Thai waters. Hence they typically remain primarily on land for their dwellings and business when away from home.

Abyss then headed to land with the intention to infiltrate, blend in, make a survival for himself beyond the depths, beyond the Unknown.

The day after Abyss has arisen onto the shores, I was on recon to check on my friend. However my ability was limited. While Abyss struggled to leave the depths, I couldn't morph into a human with legs without first stealing the essence of a human.

Many other sirens of my species could sleep with, eat, kill, or gain the energy of humans through intimacy. Hence, it wasn't unusual for there to be hybrids. Usually those born of mostly human or mostly siren genealogy.

It is true that some individuals with heritage, even distant, may feel a calling to the water or to the land, but since the modernization of the human species, coexistence had largely dwindled. Unlike the weak pod, which was all too merciful, I felt nothing but spite toward the humans who forced everyone into unnecessary hiding. They took the waters, acting as if they were their own, causing destruction and draining our innate powers just to camouflage like fish and octopuses.

My sweet mother, whom fell in love with a human had once fallen in love and given her pearl to a man, but he died due to his own idiocy. When her energy from that bond dissipated while she was on land, she passed away, struggling to birth my little sibling during the painful transformation that tore her body apart. In that moment, I vowed to never love someone like that again.

I recoiled at the thought of becoming like the sirens around me, who often reveled in their powers to allure people, be intimate, and then go onto land. The very thought of intimacy was ridiculous. I despised it. I would use seduction solely to murder or to morph others into my species.

Humans were a weak and stupid inferior race. It was too easy to sing them a lullaby and infiltrate their corrupt hearts. If they truly loved, they wouldn't fall captive to my voice.

One day, while trying to look out for the Abyss from the shores, I encountered a young man,one I wished I could have lived a lifetime without. He had wide eyes, with a sparkle about him I could never quite explain.

I had no clue what the young man was there for. However I felt the urge to siren song. I eyed my prey from the waterline, presuming this mayhaps be another wayward soul.

Someone with infidelity. The only ones a being such as myself can enchant are those with an empty heart.

"Usually meaning they are either not in love, depressed, or merely lacking in any heart in the first place" I thought to myself with disdain.

The young man suddenly turned from his nets, locking eyes with me. I jolted back, I can't believe I was so distracted I had forgotten to camouflage! "No matter" I thought, I shall just entice him with my looks

"Bet he will fall hookline and sinker, just like the fish he is holding"

The young man slowly approached, leaning over the boat. Inching towards the water. The light shining on the water almost looked like pearls in his eyes. He just stared at me with big eyes, not fully seeing my form.

Finally seeming to notice my mystical appearance. Outstretching my hand; I opened my mouth and said "come"

In response, as they all do, he did. He reached out his hand and was yanked into the waters. Down and down we went as I dragged him. Expecting the trance of my voice to make him enchanted to his own demise. Yet, the man held his breath.

Just as he was starting to run out of air, he looked into my sirenic eyes, tilted his head, and pulled my head in close, kissing my lips in a deep, deep kiss. Deeper than the depths we dived to. It felt hot, hotter than anything I ever felt in the warm thai waters.

It was a desparate, intense kiss. The kind that made my stomach flip. The instincts of sirens made such gestures hard to resist. It mayhaps be the only thing that can enchant the enchanters.

I was in shock, how could he, why would he?!?? No one had ever been concious enough at this point to do so.

Maybe it was some last ditch attempt to get air, however there was no air as I do not need to breath air. Probably a confusion in the desparation.

He kept leaning in deeper, til even I couldn't stop my eyes from glazing over, and insticts beginning to take over. "This is dangerous" I thought to myself. I can't drown the man like this, I am more likely to be the one drowning if the 'intimacy' continues!

I bit the mans lip, hard with my teeth, puncturing it a little. Puasing a bit to savor in his taste. However the peculiar man seemed far from fazed. Only to continue to stare me down with those steady eyes.

I felt a pull. The overwhelming desire to eat him. Make his eyes flicker. Anything. I smirked trying to regain composure and distance myself.

I tried to revert to my natural charms, to get the job done. Pulling out my powers to my best ability to enchant him again. unfortunately to my great shock, I was already beginning change forms.

I jolted as my body had the urge to get up to the surface, in a panic I started swimming upwards. Mr.Mystery now similarly following. Too distracted now by what was happening

Slowly my fins turned into a kick, til I was kicking desparetly to the top, but failing. I had no idea how to use these limbs.

The man reached the surface ahead, given he was much larger and stronger. He puased for a moment before for some reason diving back down to grab me by the waist and hual us both to the surface.

Coughing I was, as we hualed up on shore, sputtering, I started muttering cusses.

The muscular hunk said "is this the thanks I get for saving your life after, after whatever that was!"

Then the we locked eyes again. I could tell for a minute both of us were feeling something. An invisible line drawing us together. I gave him that seductive look.

"You....have no clothes" Quacky Pearl Eyes said.

"What, like what you see?" I responded flirtatiously with hint of sarcasm.

Dr. Know it all gulped.

I attempted clambering my way up on the ground with no shame. Deciding to set out to find Abyss and deal with this situation, this dude later.

The dorky hottie running behind me like a fool calling out to me that I need to wear clothes.
