Unique Hidden Quest Scroll
Usable at Level 1.
Only those with exceptionally great Luck could obtain it. Upon use, it would grant a unique chain quest.
The scroll's description was extremely simple, offering no details about the quest itself.
Seeing that it could already be used at Level 1, Lucien Nightfall did not hesitate. His heartbeat quickened slightly with anticipation.
Without a second thought, he immediately activated the Unique Hidden Quest Scroll.
"You have a new quest, please check it!"
"Little White Rabbit's Slayer: Kill 5,000 Little White Rabbits."
"Complete the quest to receive one Golden Treasure Chest for a Life-bound Weapon. 1/99"
When Lucien saw 1/99, a spark of excitement flashed in his eyes.
Ninety-nine stages.
The very first stage already rewarded a Golden Treasure Chest.
Anyone who had played games before knew what that meant.
The further the stage progressed, the greater the reward became.
If he actually completed all ninety-nine stages, wouldn't the final reward possibly be a divine artifact?
Just the thought alone sent a faint thrill through his chest.
As for killing five thousand Little White Rabbits, Lucien didn't take it seriously at all.
The Little White Rabbit was merely a Level 1 monster around the Novice Village. Killing five thousand of them was simply a matter of time.
At the moment, players could remain in Battle Online for eight hours a day.
If they wished to stay longer, they needed to spend gold coins.
At Level 1, once the eight hours were used up, staying for an additional hour required ten gold coins.
At Level 2, the price rose to twenty gold coins.
At Level 3, it increased again to thirty gold coins.
Lucien also needed to level up quickly if he wanted to finish the quest efficiently.
As for the quests inside Novice Village, he wasn't in a hurry to complete them.
Soon, a strange sight appeared near the entrance of the Novice Village.
A man walked out of the village bare-chested, wearing nothing but a pair of shorts.
Nearby players couldn't help but stare.
"Damn, this guy is really something, running outside without even wearing equipment."
"So handsome, such big pectoral muscles. If he bumped into someone, their waist would probably break."
Lucien ignored every single comment.
Their words drifted past his ears like meaningless noise.
His focus remained entirely on the path ahead.
Even with twenty points of Agility, it still took him five full minutes to walk out of the Novice Village.
That alone showed how massive the Novice Village truly was.
Once he stepped outside, Level 1 Little White Rabbits could be seen everywhere across the grassy plains.
Lucien calmly activated his ability.
Insight Skill
Little White Rabbit [Normal] – Level 1
HP:100
MP:100
Attack: 25
Defense: 10
**Skills:** None
A cute little rabbit. However, it seems the rabbit possesses a faint special bloodline within its body.
The stats were very ordinary.
For the majority of novice players, their own attributes were roughly similar.
Killing a Little White Rabbit normally required nearly a full minute.
If a player was careless, they could even die.
In Battle Online, death was extremely punishing.
Although players could resurrect, the cost was severe.
Not only would they lose one level, but all attributes would be reduced by half for twenty-four hours.
However, Lucien was completely unconcerned.
His Defense was 20 (from Physique).
The rabbits simply had no way to break his defense.
As long as an enemy couldn't break his defense, he would not lose a single point of HP.
Lucien stepped forward calmly.
Then he punched the Little White Rabbit without hesitation.
-30
The rabbit retaliated.
-0
The damage number floated up harmlessly.
Lucien didn't even feel it.
With just one punch, nearly one-third of the rabbit's health disappeared.
The little rabbit continued attacking him, but none of its attacks could break through his defense.
Lucien threw four punches in total.
The Little White Rabbit collapsed onto the ground.
**You killed a Little White Rabbit, EXP +1**
Where the rabbit fell, a cute rabbit ear dropped onto the grass.
Lucien picked it up casually.
This was actually a quest material.
Earlier, he didn't accept the quest because it required collecting one hundred rabbit ears.
However, even without accepting the quest, players could still collect them.
They could either turn them in later or buy them from other players.
As for money drops, the drop rate was ridiculously low.
Still, Lucien continued hunting the rabbits happily.
After all—
He still needed to kill five thousand Little White Rabbits.
"Ding, you killed a Little White Rabbit, EXP +1."
"Ding, you killed a Little White Rabbit, EXP +1."
With four attacks, he could defeat a rabbit.
Lucien's grinding speed was far faster than ordinary players.
Soon—
"Ding, congratulations, you have leveled up. Your level has increased to Level 2!"
In a short amount of time, Lucien had already killed one hundred Little White Rabbits.
His base attributes became:
Strength: 24
Physique: 26
Spirit: 26
Agility: 24
Free Attribute Points:5
Every time a player leveled up, all attributes increased by +4, except for Luck.
Because Lucien was a Daoist, both Spirit and Physique increased by six points instead.
Each point of Physique increased:
• 10 HP
• 1 Defense
• 1 Magic Resistance
Each point of Strength increased:
• 5 HP
• 2 Attack
Each point of Spirit increased:
• 10 MP
• 2 Magic Attack
Agility affected attack speed and movement speed.
10 Agility = one attack per second
100 Agility = two attacks per second
1000 Agility = three attacks per second
Additionally, each point of Agility increased movement speed by one yard.
Seeing that he still had free attribute points, Lucien paused to think.
He had just killed one hundred Little White Rabbits, which took around twenty minutes.
With 24 Strength, his attack had reached 48, allowing him to deal 38 damage per hit to the rabbits.
That meant he only needed three hits to kill one.
His hunting speed had increased by twenty-five percent.
Now, killing one hundred rabbits would take roughly fifteen minutes.
Even so, finishing the quest alone would still take around twelve hours.
If he invested all five free attribute points into Strength, his attack would increase by ten points.
But even then, it would still require three hits to kill a rabbit.
No matter how he calculated it, the improvement wasn't worth it.
Lucien calmly decided to save the free attribute points for later use.
And so, he continued slaughtering rabbits.
"Ding, you killed a Little White Rabbit, EXP +0.5."
Because of his higher level, the experience gained had decreased.
To reach Level 3, Lucien now needed five hundred experience points.
Which meant killing one thousand Little White Rabbits.
Soon, two hours passed.
Lucien finally reached Level 3.
"Ding, you killed a Little White Rabbit, EXP +0."
Now that he was two levels higher than the rabbits, they no longer gave experience.
Meanwhile, the experience required for the next level had jumped to two thousand points.
Lucien added two of his free attribute points into Strength, pushing it to thirty.
Now he could kill a rabbit with just two punches.
His quest progress speed increased dramatically.
Having thirty Strength at Level 3 was something even most Warriors specializing in Strength couldn't achieve.
At Level 3, Daoists could learn their first skill.
However, learning the skill required returning to the Novice Village.
Lucien had no intention of wasting time going back.
Besides, the first Daoist skill was merely a single-target ability.
For him, the difference wasn't significant.
Normal attacks were enough—and they didn't consume mana.
And so, Lucien continued punching rabbits relentlessly.
Before long, many players nearby began to notice him.
"Is this guy crazy! I've been watching him for a long time, he's been killing Little White Rabbits the whole time."
"Sigh, maybe he suffered some kind of blow in reality!"
"Do you think it's possible he suffered some setback, and that's why he came to kill Little White Rabbits to vent his anger?"
"Very possible, killing Little White Rabbits doesn't even give experience."
The surrounding players whispered among themselves.
In their eyes, Lucien was either mad or emotionally broken.
But none of them guessed the real reason.
Not even once.
After all—
Hidden quests in this game were incredibly rare.
