Kanchan was a "discarded" Omega—a pure soul sold by her ancestors centuries ago to settle a blood debt with a monster. When she tries to end her life to escape her misery, she is caught—not by the embrace of death, but by Abhi, an Enigma whose very existence defies the laws of nature.

He is the shadow that hunts Alphas. He is the undisputed master of the Soul Contract.

Held captive in a dark, ancient manor where her own shadow becomes her jailer, Kanchan must survive the chilling obsession of a man who doesn't just crave her body. He wants her every breath, her every heartbeat, and her very soul.

In a world ruled by Alphas and Omegas, what happens when an Enigma finally claims his golden prize?

Chapter 1: Enigma's Claim

In the pitch-black night of Maharajganj, the silence was so heavy that one could hear their own frantic heartbeat. Kanchan stood on the edge of the rooftop of the city's tallest, unfinished skyscraper. The biting winter wind toyed with her tangled hair and tattered clothes. Below, the city traffic looked like thin streaks of light, but Kanchan's world was nothing but a void.

"No more... I give up," Kanchan whispered through trembling lips. Her Omega scent was thick with the bitter tang of fear and helplessness—an Omega whom society had only ever wanted to exploit. She closed her eyes and, with a final gust of wind, threw herself into the abyss of death.

The wind roared in her ears. She waited for the final impact, the moment everything would end. But suddenly... time froze. The noise died down. The velocity that was dragging her toward death was halted by a sudden, firm touch.

She felt as if she were floating. Someone had caught her in strong, iron-like arms. A scent enveloped her—one that was neither Alpha nor Beta. It was a fragrance so heavy, so primal, and so dominant that Kanchan's entire being began to bow before it. This was the presence of an Enigma—nature's most predatory and rarest miracle, a rank far above any Alpha.

"Did you really think, little Omega, that you could dispose of my property so easily?" A deep, spine-chilling voice vibrated against her ear.

Kanchan fearfully fluttered her lashes open. Standing before her was Abhi. His eyes held a crimson glint that could turn anyone to ash in a heartbeat. He was standing in mid-air without any support, as if the laws of gravity were merely his slaves. Abhi's hand moved to her chin. The touch of his gloved fingers was cold as ice yet sharp as an electric current.

"Abhi... let... let me die," Kanchan's voice barely escaped her throat.

"I am the one who grants permission to die, Kanchan, and I haven't given it to you yet," Abhi said, a cruel smirk playing on his lips. His voice held a strange, intoxicating power. "You think you're just an ordinary Omega? No. You are part of a contract written centuries ago. The blood coursing through your veins is the only cure for a thirst of mine that never ends."

Abhi pulled her closer, molding her body against his. Kanchan felt her soul slipping under his control. As an Enigma, Abhi's powers were limitless; he could bring even an S-class Alpha to his knees. Looking into his eyes, Kanchan realized that her life was now going to be far more dangerous than death itself.

"From this day forward, your breath, your heartbeat, and this body of yours... they all belong to me. I could make you the highest queen of this world, or an Omega rotting in my cage. But you will not die... because your life is now my territory," Abhi declared.

Suddenly, a thick, violet mist—Shadow Magic—erupted from Abhi's hands, swirling around them both. In the next blink, they vanished from the skeletal building. Kanchan didn't know where she was being taken, but she knew one thing for certain: not even death could save her from the clutches of an Enigma. Abhi's grip on her neck felt like a priceless necklace tightening—a reminder that every moment and every breath of hers now belonged solely to his whim.

Amidst the violet mist and shifting shadows, Kanchan felt as if her soul were being ripped from her body. When she finally opened her eyes, she was no longer on that cold rooftop in Maharajganj. She was lying on the cold, opulent floor of a vast, shadow-drenched hall. The walls were made of ancient stone, and the flicking flames of the candles burned with an eerie, black light.

"Where... where am I?" Kanchan stammered, bracing herself against the floor. Her Omega scent had turned acrid with terror.

"You are in your new world, Kanchan," a heavy voice echoed from the darkest corner of the room. Abhi stood there, his eyes glowing with that same mysterious radiance that could pierce through one's very soul. He walked toward her slowly. With every step he took, the shadows on the floor came alive, slithering like serpents.

Abhi raised a single finger, and Kanchan's own shadow, which lay lifeless on the floor, suddenly stood upright. Kanchan tried to scream, but the sound died in her throat. Her own shadow was no longer obeying her; it was dancing at Abhi's command. This was the terrifying power of an Enigma—he didn't just enslave the body; he enslaved the very essence of one's existence.

"Do you think I saved you out of mere pity?" Abhi leaned down, lifting her chin with his cold, gloved hand. "No. Centuries ago, in exchange for his defeat, your great-grandfather bartered the purest Omega daughter of his lineage to me." He pulled an old, blackened leather document—a Soul Contract—from his coat pocket.

The blood-inked letters on the parchment still shimmered with a dark light. Kanchan's eyes widened in horror as she saw the signatures of her ancestors. "This... this is impossible!" she whispered.

"Nothing is impossible for an Enigma," Abhi said, leaning into the crook of her neck to inhale deeply, savoring her scent. "Your fragrance... I can smell every tear and every secret of your past. I can see how your own people have discarded you." Abhi's power was terrifying; he could read an entire history just by scent.

Abhi's face was now dangerously close to her throat. His Enigma energy had completely subjugated the Omega within her. "People say an Omega can only belong to an Alpha. But I am an Enigma. I can make any Beta or even the proudest Alpha bow before me and bear the burden of my legacy," Abhi said with a chilling laugh.

Kanchan realized she wasn't in the hands of a human protector, but a guardian more powerful than the devil himself. Abhi leaned into her ear and whispered an Enigma Command in his thunderous voice: "From this moment on, you shall not leave this room. Your shadow itself will be your jailer. And remember... your every heartbeat is inscribed with my name."

As he spoke, every candle in the room blew out at once. In the absolute darkness, Kanchan could only feel Abhi's glowing eyes and his soul-crushing presence. She understood now: she hadn't found escape in death; she had found a captivity far darker than the grave.
