Chapter 15 - Chapter 15: Tang Hao’s True Nature Revealed, Tang Chuan’s Clear Sense of Gratitude and Resentment

After completing his martial soul awakening, Tang Chuan stepped out of the Spirit Hall.

Village Elder Jack, already informed by Su Yuntao that Tang Chuan possessed Blue Silver Grass with innate full soul power, hurried over with a bright smile, leaning on his cane. He comforted Tang Chuan gently, explaining that even though Blue Silver Grass was considered weak, innate full soul power was an exceptional gift. As long as he absorbed a spirit ring, he could become a true Soul Master and receive a monthly stipend from the Spirit Hall.

For someone from a small village, that was enough to change their entire life.

Tang Chuan simply nodded.

On the way back, Old Jack brought up the idea of sending him to Notting Academy as a work-study student. Tang Chuan agreed without hesitation, but Old Jack could not help sighing.

"You're a good child, but your father… he's stubborn, selfish, and unreasonable. I don't know if he'll agree."

Tang Chuan fell silent for a moment before replying calmly.

"Grandpa Jack, he is him, and I am me."

"Over these past few years, he has never fulfilled his duty as a father. I've been the one cooking, washing, and taking care of everything. If giving me life is a debt, then I've already repaid it."

"From now on, I will decide my own path."

Dark World, Shrek Academy.

Hearing this, Tang San let out a cold snort, his eyes filled with disdain.

"To speak of severing ties with one's father… what an unfilial son."

"A father gives life, a debt greater than heaven itself. And he thinks a few years of chores can repay it?"

"In the end, he's nothing more than a beast in human form."

His voice carried contempt, even a trace of killing intent.

But Ning Rongrong immediately refuted him.

"You're wrong, Tang San."

"Yes, parents give life, but does that mean their responsibility to raise their child doesn't matter?"

"In this world, Tang Hao does nothing but drink all day. He never fulfilled his role as a father, yet Tang Chuan still cooks and takes care of him. That's already repayment enough."

She crossed her arms, her tone firm.

"What's wrong with deciding his own future after that? I think this is what it means to distinguish gratitude from resentment. That's how a normal person should act."

Tang San's face darkened instantly.

"Is it wrong to respect one's elders and remain filial?"

He spoke through clenched teeth.

Ning Rongrong gave a faint, sarcastic smile.

"Only fathers and teachers deserve respect? What about those who raised and nurtured you?"

Her words struck directly at his past.

For a moment, Tang San completely lost control. His eyes turned bloodshot, his breathing grew heavy, and killing intent flickered within him.

Seeing the situation escalate, Flander, Dai Mubai, and the others quickly stepped in to stop them.

"That's enough! This has nothing to do with us. Why are you arguing over it?"

Though forced to hold back, Tang San's gaze toward Ning Rongrong turned icy.

So you dare question my principles… mock my filial piety.

Fine.

One day, when I become a god, neither you nor your sect will escape.

Meanwhile, the projection in the sky continued.

After returning to the blacksmith shop, Old Jack excitedly shared the news with Tang Hao and proposed sending Tang Chuan to Notting Academy.

Tang Hao rejected it without hesitation.

In his eyes, Blue Silver Grass was a useless martial soul with no future. Tang Chuan's only purpose was to stay behind and cook for him.

Old Jack was furious and began to curse him.

But Tang Chuan remained calm.

"I've already decided. In three months, I will go to Notting Academy."

"You're an adult. You can take care of yourself now. For the past few years, I've done everything for this household. If giving me life is a debt, I've already repaid it."

"From now on, my life is mine to decide."

Those words completely enraged Tang Hao.

His eyes turned red as he pointed at Tang Chuan, hurling insults without restraint.

"Unfilial! Ungrateful! Heartless!"

Every accusation was thrown at him, as if obedience was the only virtue that mattered.

But Tang Chuan did not react.

His expression remained indifferent, his gaze calm and distant, as though none of it mattered.

In the end, Tang Hao could only sneer.

"Fine. I'd like to see what you can achieve with your so-called innate full soul power and that useless Blue Silver Grass."

With that, he turned away and returned to his room, collapsing onto his bed without another glance.

White World, Shrek Academy.

Ning Rongrong was visibly disgusted.

"Too realistic."

"When Tang San revealed the Clear Sky Hammer, Tang Hao immediately became a loving father. But when Tang Chuan didn't, he remained cold and heartless."

She shook her head.

"They're both his sons, yet he treats them completely differently. Someone like that doesn't deserve to be called a father."

In the Blue Silver Forest, Ah Yin's heart trembled.

This time, the contrast made everything even clearer.

Without the influence of the Clear Sky Hammer, Tang Hao's true nature was laid bare.

Her voice trembled with regret.

"I was wrong… I never thought he could be this kind of person."

"I even defended him before."

"Xiao Chuan must have suffered so much…"

The Blue Silver King stepped forward, offering gentle reassurance.

"My Emperor, please do not blame yourself. You were deceived as well."

"Now that the truth has been revealed, you understand what His Highness has endured."

"From now on… your bond with him will only grow stronger."
