Once, a cunning fox was caught in a trap while hunting for food. After a long struggle, he managed to break free, but in the process, he lost his beautiful, bushy tail.
The fox felt very ashamed and miserable without his tail. He thought that the other foxes would laugh at his appearance. So, he came up with a clever plan to save himself from embarrassment.

He called a meeting of all the foxes. When everyone arrived, he stood up and said, "My dear friends, have you ever realized how useless and heavy our tails are? They get dirty in the mud and make it difficult for us to run fast. I have cut mine off and I feel much lighter now. I suggest you all do the same!"
The other foxes listened carefully, and some even started to believe him. But an old, wise fox stood up and said with a smile, "Friend, you wouldn't be giving us this advice if you hadn't lost your own tail first, would you?"
The tailless fox realized his trick had failed. Feeling humiliated, he quietly left the place.
