Chapter 37 - Episode 36 — No Mercy

The forest clearing had turned into a battlefield.

Broken weapons and fallen assassins lay scattered among the trees.

Now only two enemies remained.

The black mage leader.

And the massive warrior.

June's Battle

The warrior rushed forward again, his enormous blade cutting through the air toward June Astral.

BOOM.

The sword struck the ground where she had been standing.

But June was already gone.

She moved behind him like a shadow.

Her brown eyes were cold now, completely different from her usual sweet smile.

"You swing too slowly."

The warrior turned and attacked again, roaring with anger.

June stepped aside gracefully.

Then—

SLASH.

Her sword moved once.

A clean, precise strike across his armor.

The warrior staggered.

Before he could recover—

June kicked him hard in the chest.

THUD.

He crashed to the ground.

June stepped forward and placed one boot firmly on his chest, pinning him down.

Her rose-colored lips curved into a small smile.

"You chose the wrong land to invade."

The warrior tried to move—

But her sword was already at his throat.

SLASH.

One final strike.

The warrior collapsed.

June removed her sword calmly.

Lucas's Battle

Across the clearing, the black mage leader released a massive wave of dark magic.

Black flames spread through the air like a storm.

But Lucas de Hein simply raised one hand.

Six glowing magic circles appeared around him.

The dark flames crashed into his barrier—

And shattered instantly.

Lucas stepped forward slowly.

His silver eyes glowed brighter now.

"You rely on corrupted power."

The black mage shouted and launched another spell.

Dark chains of magic rushed toward Lucas.

Lucas flicked his fingers.

CRACK.

The chains shattered like glass.

Then Lucas raised his hand slightly.

A massive magic circle formed above the black mage.

The dark mage's eyes widened.

Lucas's voice was calm.

"…Disappear."

He lowered his hand.

BOOOOM.

A powerful beam of magic slammed down from the circle.

The ground exploded with light.

When the dust cleared—

The black mage was lying motionless in the center of the shattered ritual circle.

Defeated completely.

The forest slowly became quiet again.

June wiped her sword lightly and placed it back in its sheath.

Lucas dismissed the glowing magic circles around him.

The two of them looked at each other across the clearing.

June smiled slightly.

"Well."

She walked toward him.

"That was easy."

Lucas looked at the fallen enemies.

"…Predictable."

June stretched her arms casually.

"Mission complete."

But neither of them noticed yet—

Far away in the shadows of the forest…
