PART 1 When I First Saw Her
It was a hot summer afternoon.
I was lying lazily on my bed, watching a cricket match on my phone… completely lost in the game.
Everything felt normal.
Until suddenly—
Ding-dong.
The doorbell rang.
I ignored it at first.
Maybe someone else would open the door.
But the bell rang again… and again.
Almost 2–3 minutes passed, and no one responded.
Finally, my mom got up, slightly annoyed, and walked towards the gate.
She opened it.
I didn't know it then…
but that moment was about to change my life forever.
There was a woman standing outside… and behind her, a girl.
They were looking for a room on rent.
My mom invited them inside.
And I… I was still on my bed.
But something felt strange.
I don't know why… but it felt like that doorbell wasn't ringing at the gate—
It was ringing inside my heart.
I got up slowly and walked towards the room where they were sitting.
First, I saw her mother.
And then…
Behind her… hiding quietly…
There she was.
A girl.
She stepped forward slowly and sat beside her mother, softly… almost like she didn't want to be noticed.
But I noticed her.
And in that exact moment—
Something inside me changed.
My heart… it didn't feel the same anymore.
It was as if time had stopped.
As if… I had just seen someone I was meant to meet.
My soulmate.
While my mom and her mother were discussing the rent and room details…
My mind was somewhere else.
I wasn't even listening.
I just kept thinking—
"Please say yes… please let them stay here… I don't care about the rent… just say yes…"
And somehow…
It happened.
The deal was done.
They were going to move in.
They were going to live in my house.
I should have been normal.
But I wasn't.
Because from that moment…
I wasn't waiting for tenants to shift in—
I was waiting for her.
Her face… her eyes… they stayed in my mind the entire day.
And every night after that…
I found myself thinking only one thing—
"When will she come back…?"
Because deep inside…
I knew—
This was not just a meeting.
This was the beginning of something I didn't understand yet…
Something that was about to change everything.
