Chapter 4 - Scene: Teacher’s Room Visit

The next morning, Hachiman found himself standing in front of Shizuka Hiratsuka's classroom, calm and deliberate. He didn't bother knocking—he knew she would let him in. And sure enough, the door creaked open to reveal her, bleary-eyed from another early morning, still carrying the subtle exhaustion from last night.

"Sensei…" he said lightly, voice carrying a teasing lilt. "You look like you survived another apocalypse—or maybe just another week of students."

Shizuka blinked, flustered. "Hachiman… what are you doing here? It's… early."

"I'm checking on you," he said casually, leaning against the doorframe, one hand in his pocket. "Can't have my future wife running herself into the ground after another failed blind date."

Shizuka's cheeks flushed a soft pink. "F-Future… Hachiman!" she stammered, half-scolding, half-amused.

He smirked, walking into the room with calm, deliberate steps. "Relax. I'm serious, but I also know how to have fun. You looked a little… worn out yesterday. Thought I'd make sure you're okay."

Teasing & Flirting

Hachiman leaned casually against her desk, eyes scanning her with subtle appreciation. "You know… last night, you looked… incredible," he said quietly, letting the words hang just long enough to make her blush.

Shizuka's lips pressed together. "H-Hachiman… you can't just—"

"Why not?" he interrupted, voice low, teasing. "I'm just being honest. You're feisty, independent, strong… all qualities I like. Don't think I didn't notice."

Her fingers twitched nervously, and Hachiman took the subtle hint. With calm, deliberate confidence, he reached out and took her hand in his. Her eyes widened, heart skipping a beat.

"Sensei…" he murmured, stepping closer. "I mean it. I'm serious about… us. About being with you."

Then, before she could protest, he pulled her gently into a hug. Her initial shock faded as he held her, steady and reassuring, his presence a strange mix of warmth and unshakable confidence.

"Relax," he whispered softly into her ear. "I'm serious. I'll always be here."

The Pendant Gift

From his pocket, he produced a small pendant—simple, elegant, not expensive, but designed to symbolize strength and protection. Holding it between them, he murmured, "This… is for you. A reminder. Something to show I'm always with you."

He concentrated briefly, letting his Armament Haki flow into the pendant. The silver metal deepened, turning a permanent, lustrous black, almost glowing faintly with the imbued energy.

"It's permanent," he said, handing it to her. "Not fancy, but… strong. Like you. Whenever you see it, know that I'm always here, keeping you safe. Always."

Shizuka's eyes widened, emotions swirling—surprise, awe, embarrassment, and something deeper she hadn't expected. Her fingers trembled slightly as she held it.

Hachiman released her, giving a small, teasing smirk. "So… don't lose it. Or me."

Her blush deepened, lips parting, words failing her as she struggled between laughing, scolding, and… quietly accepting the gesture. Hachiman, as always, remained calm, confident, teasing just enough to make her heart race, but never pushing beyond her comfort.
