Chapter 1 - The Girl I Met at Midnight

Chapter 2

"When Destiny Knocked on the Silent Heart"

The morning sun slowly spread its golden light across the quiet city. Streets that were silent at night were now filled with the soft noise of people starting their day. But inside a small room at the corner of the city, Arin was still awake.

He had not slept the whole night.

The words she said yesterday kept echoing in his mind like a song that refused to end.

"Sometimes love comes when you are not ready for it."

Arin sat by the window, staring at the sky. The clouds were slowly moving, just like his thoughts—restless and heavy.

He never believed in love.

For him, love was just a story people liked to tell themselves. Something beautiful but unrealistic. Something that only existed in novels and movies.

But then she appeared.

Her name was Liana.

And everything changed.

Arin first met Liana at the city library two weeks ago.

It was raining that day. The rain fell like silver threads from the sky, tapping gently against the library windows.

Arin was searching for a book on the top shelf when suddenly another hand reached for the same book.

Their hands touched.

For a brief second, time seemed to pause.

"I'm sorry," the girl said softly.

Her voice was calm, warm, and strangely familiar.

Arin looked at her.

She had deep brown eyes that held a quiet mystery. Her hair was slightly wet from the rain, and a few strands rested gently on her face.

"It's okay," Arin replied.

But he didn't move his hand.

Neither did she.

They both stood there awkwardly before finally laughing.

"You take it," she said.

"No, you can take it," Arin answered.

Finally, they decided to sit at the same table and share the book.

That was the beginning.

Days passed quickly after that.

Arin and Liana kept meeting at the library. Sometimes they talked about books. Sometimes about dreams. Sometimes about life.

But the strange thing was…

Arin started looking forward to those meetings.

Every morning he woke up wondering if he would see her again.

Every evening he walked home thinking about her smile.

And slowly, without realizing it, his heart started changing.

But love is never simple.

One evening, while they were sitting near the library window, Liana suddenly said something unexpected.

"Arin, do you believe in destiny?"

Arin thought for a moment.

"I believe people create their own destiny," he replied.

Liana smiled faintly.

"What if destiny is already written?"

Arin looked confused.

"What do you mean?"

For a moment, Liana stayed silent.

Then she looked outside the window where the sunset painted the sky orange and pink.

"Because sometimes," she said softly, "people meet for a reason… even if they are not meant to stay."

Those words hit Arin's heart like a quiet storm.

He didn't understand why she said that.

But somehow… he felt scared.

Scared of losing something he hadn't even fully gained yet.

That night, Arin walked home alone.

The streets were empty.

The wind was cold.

But inside his heart, something warm had started to grow.

Something he could no longer deny.

Love.

And he knew one thing for sure.

Meeting Liana was not just coincidence.

It was the beginning of a story that would change his life forever.
