Chapter 2 -  Destruction

"Hey, Whis. If I remember correctly, Saiyans may have tough bodies, but they can't survive directly in outer space without protection, right? So what's going on with this kid?"

Beerus looked surprised again.

"Oh my, what remarkable instinct," Whis said after observing closely.

"He's using the powerful energy inside his body to spontaneously create a temporary protective barrier around himself. The barrier is even simulating an atmosphere inside it."

Whis paused slightly before continuing.

"However, this method consumes an enormous amount of energy and is extremely unstable. With his current level of control, he wouldn't be able to survive in space like this for very long."

"Oh?" Beerus' expression slowly turned into a mocking grin.

"So he knows I just smacked his ship away… and now he's rushing over here to get revenge?"

"Interesting. Very interesting."

At this moment, Broly had already rushed to within about one kilometer of them.

On the scale of outer space, that distance was practically face-to-face.

Broly's small body floated in the void. The dark green aura behind him left a short glowing trail.

His clear eyes were fixed firmly on Beerus.

There was no anger.

No hatred.

Only a pure, primal instinct to strike back.

Suddenly, Broly opened his small mouth.

A frightening light began gathering deep inside his throat.

The light was a deep green, as if it contained endless vitality.

"Whoosh!"

A condensed dark green energy beam shot out of Broly's mouth, tearing through space and heading straight toward Beerus' face.

Where the beam passed, even the surrounding space seemed to ripple slightly.

Faced with an attack powerful enough to easily destroy a planet, Beerus didn't even move his feet.

He simply raised one hand casually and opened his palm.

"Pfft!"

The dark green beam struck Beerus' palm directly.

But the expected explosion never happened.

Instead, it was as if the attack had hit an immovable wall.

All of its force and destructive power were instantly neutralized.

With a soft muffled sound, the energy dispersed into countless green sparks and vanished silently into the vacuum of space.

Not even a ripple remained.

Broly's pupils shrank suddenly.

His small mind clearly couldn't understand what had just happened.

Yet he continued staring at Beerus, as if trying to engrave this overwhelming figure deep into his newly forming consciousness.

"Hmph. Kid, if you want to fight me," Beerus sneered,

"go back and train for a few thousand years first!"

"My my, Lord Beerus," Whis said helplessly while shaking his head slightly.

"Please don't forget—he's not even one year old yet."

Broly did not attack again.

He glanced at the unfathomable being in front of him…

Then looked back toward the spaceship.

The pod had already turned into a tiny dot, drifting farther and farther away into the darkness of space due to Beerus' earlier strike.

Broly's simple thoughts finally seemed to realize something.

He might…

not be able to catch up with that ship anymore.

A sense of instinctive crisis replaced his desire to attack.

Without hesitation, Broly suddenly turned around.

His dark green aura erupted again, propelling him like a reverse meteor as he desperately chased the direction where the ship had disappeared.

However, when Beerus had struck the spaceship earlier, it gained tremendous initial velocity.

Its engines were also still running.

Meanwhile, Broly was flying purely using his own energy.

Although fast, it was still difficult for him to catch up.

"Hahahaha! What an idiot!" Beerus burst out laughing when he saw this.

"If he runs out of energy and dies in space because he can't catch the ship, that would be the biggest joke in the universe!"

"Based on the current situation," Whis said calmly,

"the probability of this Saiyan baby catching up to the spaceship with his own power is less than 0.1%."

"Tch. What a nuisance," Beerus clicked his tongue.

"Help him out, Whis."

"As you wish, Lord Beerus."

Whis nodded slightly.

He gracefully lifted his staff and lightly tapped it toward Broly's small figure from afar.

"Snap!"

An invisible Angel's power, carrying the authority of divine law, crossed space instantly and acted upon Broly.

Broly suddenly felt the surrounding space twist strangely.

The scene before his eyes rippled like a reflection on water.

"Swish!"

When Broly came back to his senses, he discovered that he was sitting safely inside the small spaceship cockpit again.

Broly blinked in confusion.

He scratched his head with his tiny hand, completely unable to understand what had just happened.

But children are easily distracted.

After all the chaos earlier, his energy had been heavily drained.

A wave of sleepiness soon hit him.

Broly yawned widely.

His head tilted to one side, leaning against the soft seat.

Almost instantly, he fell asleep again.

However—

No one noticed…

At the exact moment when Whis teleported Broly back into the ship and stabilized the vessel with his angelic power—

The force from Beerus' earlier strike, combined with the subtle spatial disturbance caused by Whis' intervention, slightly affected the ship's navigation system.

The coordinates originally set for Planet Vampa shifted ever so slightly.

A tiny deviation.

But enough to change fate.

Without anyone realizing it, the autopilot quietly adjusted its course.

The ship continued faithfully following its new route—

toward a beautiful blue planet located on the edge of the North Galaxy.

Earth.

"My my… this Broly is just a tiny bit too fierce," Whis said with a smile.

"Alright, let's go, Whis." Beerus let out a huge yawn, his eyelids drooping heavily.

"I've reached my limit… If I don't find somewhere to sleep soon, I might fall asleep before even tasting the food you promised."

"In that case," Whis suddenly said with a mischievous smile,

"how about bringing a photo of Lord Beerus with me?"

"Huh? A photo? What do you mean?" Beerus blinked, his sleepy brain struggling to process the idea.

"Well," Whis said cheerfully,

"while I enjoy the delicious cuisine on that planet, I can respectfully place a photo of Lord Beerus across the dining table."

"In that way… in a certain sense, Lord Beerus will also be participating in the gourmet journey."

"You'll be spiritually present with the food!"

Whis laughed so hard his shoulders trembled.
