"Damn old man, I curse your ancestors! What did I ever do to you? I was walking right by the entrance to my own neighborhood. Didn't your driving instructor teach you to slow down at a gate? You wanted your 'performance quota'? Well, your quota just killed me and kicked my soul into this disaster of a world!"
Inside a house with a somewhat retro design, a child who looked to be five or six years old was currently venting a stream of profanities. He was so worked up that his eyes had turned bloodshot.
Who was this child? This was Li Qiuxia, the man who had been run over to fulfill someone's "performance quota." Once Li Qiuxia regained consciousness, he discovered a startling fact: he had been reincarnated.
If it were his original world, reincarnation wouldn't have been such a bad thing. Being reborn as a child meant he could make a fortune write novels that hadn't been published yet, or "compose" hit songs and movies before they were released. He would never have to worry about money again.
The problem, however, was that Li Qiuxia hadn't been reborn in the modern era. He had arrived in the Naruto World specifically, in Konohagakure, a place rife with more conspiracies than anywhere else.
In Konoha, whether you were a clan child or a civilian, life was incredibly dangerous. There was one particularly perilous figure: the Ultimate Scapegoat, the King of Pots, the Root Shadow Danzo Shimura. That old codger was nothing but trouble, and it wasn't just him none of his peers or disciples were any better.
Alright, even in such a situation, there was usually a way to break the deadlock. If he were a civilian, he could go to Ichiraku Ramen and cling to the legs of Otsutsuki Ichiraku; that way, he might be able to live a quiet life until the Boruto era. But Li Qiuxia wasn't a civilian. If he had a choice, he would have preferred to be one.
Why? Wouldn't a clan child have an easier time obtaining Chakra and Ninjutsu? Why would Li Qiuxia think this way? The reason was simple: his name in this world was Uchiha Qiuxia. Yes, that Uchiha the clan that would be wiped out by that "filial son" and psycho Itachi Uchiha, alongside that other nutcase Obito Uchiha and the high-ranking officials of Konoha like Danzo Shimura.
Knowing this, it was impossible for Li Qiuxia to remain calm. This was a "heaven-collapsing" start. What was he supposed to do? Although there were still several years before the Uchiha Clan Massacre, could he really grow strong enough in such a short time?
In this life, Uchiha Qiuxia's parents were merely ordinary Genin. His father had died without ever awakening the Sharingan, and his mother was a Konoha civilian. Their aptitude was clearly mediocre. Even if Qiuxia's generation had improved through a better genetic mix, how much could it really be boosted?
Furthermore, even if Uchiha Qiuxia possessed godlike, reality-defying talent, could he really amass enough power before the massacre? The old fogies in Konoha kept a very tight watch on the Uchiha, and there were plenty of psychos within the clan itself. Even with world-class talent, the chance to actually develop it was slim.
What, you say he should show off his talent to the Uchiha elders to get resources? Sure, that logic sounds sound, but don't forget the context. Outside, he'd be watched by the Anbu and Root; inside the clan, he'd be watched by that brain-dead Shisui Uchiha and the psycho Itachi Uchiha!
Could he guarantee his progress wouldn't be leaked? Even if they were blind and didn't see it, once they gave him resources and Ninjutsu, he would have to train. Whether he trained inside the clan compound or outside, they would find him.
Root and Anbu were filled with members from the Hyuga Clan, the Inuzuka Clan, and the Aburame Clan. Finding someone was effortless for them. As soon as they discovered his talent...
Danzo Shimura would say: "Young man, your talent is quite good. Come, let me give you a tattoo on your tongue! What's that? You're not willing? Well, Orochimaru's latest experiment is looking for a subject. You'll do."
Hiruzen Sarutobi would say: "Young man, your talent is quite good. Let me tell you about the Will of Fire brainwashing. What, you won't listen? Danzo, I think this child's thoughts are a bit abnormal. He's yours."
If your talent was good, you wouldn't have time to grow; if your talent was poor, you'd just sit around waiting for the end. As for sneaking out of Konoha, he could forget about it. Neither the Uchiha nor the village would ever let Qiuxia escape.
"That damn old man... if you were going to send me to this terrible world, you could have sent me a bit earlier! I would've even accepted the Second Great Ninja War. Sure, the battlefield is dangerous, but as long as I kept a low profile, there would be a way to survive. I could have found a way to run away back then. But you sent me to this era? I'm freaking..."
"What am I supposed to do? I don't want to die yet! I haven't lived long enough!" The more Qiuxia thought about it, the angrier he became. His eyes grew redder as negative emotions consumed him.
In the real world, Qiuxia would have probably just given himself a brain hemorrhage or a case of pinkeye from the stress. But this was the Naruto World, and his name was Uchiha Qiuxia. The Uchiha Clan possessed the Sharingan Kekkei Genkai.
As Qiuxia's thoughts spiraled, his negative emotions hit their limit. His rabbit-like red eyes seemed to shatter a bottleneck. Blood began to seep from his eyelids, and black Tomoe appeared within the crimson irises.
One Tomoe, two Tomoe, three Tomoe... Upon reaching the Three Tomoe Sharingan, the energy continued to surge, attempting to form a unique pattern. However, the excruciating pain in his eyes and head finally caused Qiuxia to lose consciousness.
When he woke up again, it was already night. The house was pitch black, with only a sliver of moonlight providing a faint glow. In the past, Qiuxia wouldn't have been able to see much in such an environment. Now, however, aside from a lingering ache in his eyes, his surroundings were crystal clear.
"What happened to me? Why did I just faint like that? Don't tell me this body's original owner had Kekkei Genkai Disease! Crap, if that's the case, I won't even make it to the Uchiha Clan Massacre. Hiss, why do my eyes hurt so much? Are they injured? I need to turn on the light and check."
Following Qiuxia's memories, he found the light switch and flipped it. He looked into the mirror and yelled, "Holy crap!" He jumped back in fright. His eyes were blood-red and his face was covered in dried blood. It was a terrifying sight.
"What is this? Did someone gouge my eyes out while I was unconscious? No, I can still see... Did someone swap my eyeballs? What the hell! What is going on? Forget it, I need to wash this off first. This is way too scary."
After making up his mind, Qiuxia took a shower and changed into clean clothes. Then, he started cooking. Yes, cooking. No matter how much despair he felt about the future, he couldn't let himself starve to death. Starving was miserable; he'd rather die during the Uchiha Clan Massacre at least that would be quick.
There wasn't much food in the house, but there was enough for one meal. He made a simple pot of vegetable porridge. As he ate, he began to contemplate his next move.
First and foremost, he was absolutely not going to the Ninja Academy. The school was largely useless for clan members; it taught basic foundations that could be learned at home. It was great for civilians, but for a clan ninja, it was a waste of time.
Qiuxia had never understood why clans allowed their children to be trained at the Ninja Academy in the first place. Even if the high-ranking officials ordered it, they could always feign compliance.
Wouldn't it be better to cultivate their own clan's power? If the Konoha Council questioned it, the excuse was simple: the child didn't want to be a ninja and didn't want to go on missions. "Why am I learning Ninjutsu if I don't want to be a ninja? Since when is there a rule that only ninjas can learn Ninjutsu? We aren't civilians."
As for the argument that one wouldn't have money without being a ninja that was nonsense. One could make money doing any kind of business. It was far safer than risking one's life on missions every day.
Some might argue that being a ninja was lucrative, but Qiuxia knew he could make just as much in trade. Some might say being a ninja allowed one to contribute to the village and earn new Ninjutsu, but for an Uchiha, that was a joke. Konoha would never give the good techniques to an Uchiha; they'd more likely do everything in their power to stunt his growth.
