Yokohama City — The Waterfront District
The warehouse stood at the edge of the city like a rotten tooth forgotten, condemned, marked for demolition that would never come.
Rain fell in steady sheets, drumming against rusted corrugated steel and pooling in cracked asphalt craters.
The perfect place for things that needed to stay hidden.
Three men stood guard outside the main bay door.
A mountain of flesh and mineral, his skin like grey rock leaned against the wall, arms crossed. Next to him a wiry man with bone spurs scrolled through his phone. The third sat on an overturned crate, three crimson eyes hungry and restless.
"When are those idiots gonna finish?" the bone user muttered, not looking up. "We've been standing here for twenty minutes."
"Trafficking takes time," the stone guard grunted. "Shut your mouth."
"Tch."
The bone guard returned to his phone, and Three-Eyes kept watching the rain until he saw movement.
The figure walked through the rain like it wasn't there. Tactical black armour is like a silent military-grade hoodie, hung over it, and a black mask hid his face as he carried a black backpack while walking directly toward them.
The stone guard gets up as he steps forward, while the others stay behind.
"Oi. This is private property, Get lost."
The figure didn't stop just kept walking, closing the distance.
He stops walking and stands in front of the stone guard, who is looking down at him with irritation. The stone-armoured guard felt something cold coiling in his gut when a random guy stared at him.
No one walked toward three men with quirks like that unless they had nothing to fear. But he couldn't back down and started to repeat the warning to the stranger.
"I said—"
He never finished.
A shotgun appeared in the stranger's hand.
One moment the guard opened his mouth, and the next a steel barrel was shoved past the stone guard's teeth piercing deep into his mouth.
BAM.
The shot was deafening. The stone armour meant nothing at point-blank range, the blast pulverised the inside of his skull spraying blood, brain matter and shattered rock across the concrete.
Three-Eyes reacted. His quirk flared, lightning crackling between his fingers, charging for a blast.
The Stranger throws a knife that takes him in the forehead where his third eye is.
It moved faster than any thrown blade should have as the handle buried itself against his skull. The lightning died and fell backward.
The bone guard dropped his phone.
Bone blades sprouting instinctively from his forearms throw hard a swing to survive.
But the stranger dodged with ease as his gloved hand clamped around the guard's skull like a vice.
The shotgun pressed against the bone guard's open mouth which he attempted to scream, was shoved down his throat until he gagged, until he choked on cold steel.
BAM.
The second shot was wetter. The bone guard's body convulsed once, then went slack.
The stranger dropped the body like a broken toy.
He looked down at the fallen phone, still glowing. It rose without being touched as it floated into his palm. A few taps on it and he puts it in his pouch.
"Maybe I should sell it after I'm done here."
His voice was low and gentle after murdering 3 people.
Then he turned to the bay door.
"Now then."
He kicked the massive metal door ripped from its rusted hinges and flew across the warehouse interior like a guided missile.
It struck one of the thugs who was lighting a cigarette, who was crushed against a shipping container.
Inside, the operation stopped.
Men in cheap suits and tactical vests stopped carrying cages with blankets and chains inside for Human cargo.
"The hell is that, a hero?"
"No hero kills a person after kicking the door." Another pointed a trembling finger toward the bodies visible through the ruined entrance. "Look our guards, he killed them.
He began walking forward, boots crunching on shattered metal.
The thugs were scared but one gritted his teeth and shouted.
"Let's jump this guy, he can't take down all of us!"
The thug's muscles grow and bulk up like the Hulk. The others follow activating their quirks and charging at the intruder with cocky smiles.
The bulky one throws a punch at him that he dodges and uses his free hand to rip the thug's balls.
The thug screamed in pain, but it was cut short when a grenade appeared out of nowhere in his hand and was shoved into the hulking thug's mouth.
He grabs him with one arm and throws him to the other thugs as he explodes killing some and injuring others severely.
The shotgun he carried disappeared and was replaced with a baseball bat.
He swings the baseball bat at the thug with a horse head and legs, sending the thug flying like a baseball.
"Bastard!"
Another try avenging his friend with his stretchy rubber arms wrapped around the intruder's neck.
But it backfired as the intruder grabbed them and used him as a weapon on the others by swinging around.
The thugs were getting badly hurt, including the one with stretchy arms.
What's worse is when everyone is out or dead, the intruder pulls the rope close, wraps his arms around his neck like a rope, bulging eyes, a blue face, and foam from his mouth.
He starts to beg for his life not wanting to die by his own hands.
"Please..... spare -"
Before the stretchy arms thug properly pleads, the intruder roughly tugs at the arms with a loud snap. The stretchy arm thug's body goes limp, lifeless.
The intruder releases the corpse's arms as he surveys the area.
Unconscious bodies, dead ones, some alive with critical injuries and many died violently.
His gaze was counting the number of thugs that were not fully exploded and there were a good number of them.
He rubbed his hands together with greedy intention.
"Alright, time to loot some prizes from these background characters."
He goes through each body's pockets, taking phones, wallets, lighters, a Game Boy, and watches. As he puts these items inside his bag.
Those who are barely conscious and heavily injured try to fight back, but he punches them in the face, knocking them out, and continues to loot the thugs' belongings.
"Alright, I took everyone's personal items. It's time to wait for those Traffickers to arrive."
He said with a casual tone as his entire body turned invisible.
.....
30 minutes later
A truck and two cars drove towards the warehouse. They had abducted a couple of people for the black market. As the cars and trucks got close, they saw the three bodyguards lying down, blood leaking out.
The human traffickers stopped their vehicles. Many came out with guns and quirks ready to check the warehouse while the other two stayed in the truck, but didn't realise that someone was already close.
One of them in the truck pulled out a cigarette and tried to light it up, but there was no more fuel.
"Drat. Hey bro, got any spares?"
"Nope, sorry man. Looks like you have to wait for the others to finish searching the area."
"Maybe I can help."
They both tensed from a different voice, forcing them to turn their heads to the left to see a man in black armour who had just appeared out of nowhere with two stun guns.
He shot them both right in the head, paralysing them.
The doors opened by themselves as their bodies came out.
The man in black armour got into the driver's seat. The truck started to levitate and flew off very fast.
The human traffickers saw this and tried to shoot it down, but it was useless when it was out of reach.
"Dammit! Who the hell was that stealing our pay!?"
"I don't know, but we need to get out of here."
They went straight to their cars but noticed the flat tyres on them.
Before any of them could curse, policemen and heroes arrived just in time to arrest the human traffickers.
As some pro heroes went inside the warehouse, they were horrified at seeing the many dead and badly injured bodies.
They had seen criminals and villains do bad things, but this? This was beyond it. They wondered who would have done this.
---
As the truck slowly descended, the man in black armour got out of the driver's seat and went to the back, opening it.
People with cuffs were scared to see him, thinking he was part of their captors. But he pulls out a key and starts unlocking their cuffs one by one.
As they were free from their restraints he pointed to the road sign.
"The police station is not far away it will take 5 minutes for all of you to make contact with the police."
After giving them some instructions, he's about to go till one shout out.
"Wait! Please sir give us your name so we can thank you for saving our lives."
The man in black armour gently turned his head to meet the people's happy faces.
He sighs.
"I won't tell you my real name but I will give you my vigilante one, the name is Absalon. "
After giving them the name, he turned into a blur and disappeared from their site now remembering the saviour's name.
Absalon.
