Chapter 8 - First Game of Predators

Night settled once again over Beacon Hills.

The streets were quiet.

Most houses had their lights on.

Families were eating dinner or watching television.

But inside the dark forest surrounding the town…

Predators were awake.

Inside Beacon Hills High School, lacrosse practice had just ended.

Players walked off the field, tired and sweaty.

Some talked about the upcoming game.

Others complained about Coach's brutal training.

But the attention of many players was on two people.

Scott McCall.

And the new player.

Aiden Blackwell.

Scott was still confused about his new strength.

During practice he had moved faster than ever before.

Too fast.

Even he couldn't control it.

Meanwhile—

Aiden walked calmly toward the locker room.

His movements were relaxed.

But his senses were constantly active.

The Hellhound inside him never truly slept.

Suddenly—

Someone blocked his path.

It was Jackson Whittemore.

Jackson crossed his arms.

"You got lucky out there."

Aiden raised an eyebrow.

"Did I?"

Jackson stepped closer.

"This team already has a star player."

He pointed at himself.

"You."

Aiden smiled faintly.

"I figured."

Jackson frowned.

"Don't get comfortable."

Then he walked away.

Aiden watched him leave.

Arrogant.

But predictable.

Across the field—

Scott sat alone on the bench.

He looked nervous.

Everything felt wrong.

His senses were out of control.

His body felt too strong.

Too fast.

He didn't understand what was happening to him.

Then suddenly—

Someone sat beside him.

Scott looked up.

It was Derek Hale.

Scott groaned.

"You again."

Derek ignored the tone.

"You're losing control."

Scott looked around nervously.

"Can we not talk about werewolves in public?"

Derek leaned closer.

"You have two choices."

Scott sighed.

"Let me guess. Run away or join the dark side."

Derek spoke calmly.

"Learn control… or hurt someone."

Scott's expression changed.

The words hit harder than expected.

Because deep down…

He knew Derek might be right.

Nearby—

Aiden leaned against the fence, watching everything.

The interaction between Scott and Derek was interesting.

The future True Alpha and the last Hale were already beginning their strange alliance.

But Aiden's attention suddenly shifted.

Something was wrong.

His Hellhound instincts reacted instantly.

A powerful supernatural presence had entered the area.

Aiden slowly turned his head toward the forest.

His eyes glowed faintly.

He could smell it.

The Alpha.

Peter Hale.

And Peter was close.

Very close.

Deep inside the forest—

Peter stood silently among the trees.

His glowing red eyes watched the school field from the shadows.

He could see Scott.

He could see Derek.

But his attention focused on someone else.

Aiden.

Peter sniffed the air slowly.

That scent again.

Fire.

Death.

Power.

Peter smiled slightly.

"A Hellhound…"

His voice was quiet but excited.

Most supernatural creatures avoided conflict with Hellhounds.

But Peter wasn't afraid.

If anything—

He was curious.

Maybe even interested.

"This town is getting more entertaining."

Back on the field—

Aiden suddenly felt it.

Someone was watching him.

His eyes moved toward the forest.

For a brief moment—

Two predators sensed each other.

Peter in the darkness.

Aiden under the stadium lights.

Neither moved.

Neither attacked.

But both understood something important.

There was a new power in Beacon Hills.

And eventually—

They would clash again.

Aiden turned away from the forest.

He wasn't ready to fight Peter yet.

Not until his power grew stronger.

But that day would come soon.

He looked toward Scott and Derek again.

Scott was leaving the field, still confused about everything.

Derek followed him silently.

Aiden smiled slightly.

"So the pack is forming."

Scott.

Derek.

And soon…

More supernatural creatures would appear.

Hunters.

Banshees.

New enemies.

But Aiden Blackwell had already entered the story.

And unlike the others—

He wasn't just trying to survive.

He was preparing to rule.

His eyes briefly ignited with hellfire.
