Long ago, beyond the great seas and endless forests, there was a mysterious land called Arkenfall. The land was famous for its peaceful villages, beautiful rivers, and towering mountains that touched the clouds.
But among all those mountains, one stood apart from the rest.
It was called The Dark Mountain.
No birds flew near it.No animals lived around it.And no traveler ever returned from its shadow.
For hundreds of years, people believed that the mountain was cursed.
In the nearby village of Green Hollow, children grew up hearing frightening stories about it. Parents warned their children never to go near the mountain.
But there was one boy who never believed those stories.
His name was Kai.
A Curious Boy
Kai was seventeen years old, tall and strong, with bright curious eyes. Unlike the other villagers, he loved exploring the forest and climbing hills.
While other boys worked in the fields, Kai searched for hidden caves and secret paths.
He always believed the world was full of secrets waiting to be discovered.
Every evening he would sit on a hill outside the village and stare at the Dark Mountain in the distance.
The mountain was always covered in black clouds.
Sometimes lightning flashed around its peak.
The villagers said it was a sign of evil.
But Kai felt something different.
He felt that the mountain was calling him.
The Old Traveler
One evening, while walking through the village market, Kai noticed a strange old man sitting beside the road.
The man wore a long gray cloak and carried a wooden staff.
His eyes were sharp and wise.
When Kai passed by, the old man suddenly spoke.
"You are the one who watches the Dark Mountain."
Kai stopped.
"How do you know that?"
The old man smiled.
"Because the mountain watches you too."
Kai frowned.
"What do you mean?"
The old traveler leaned closer and whispered,
"The mountain is not cursed."
Kai felt surprised.
"Then what is it?"
The old man looked toward the distant mountain.
"It is sealed."
The Hidden Truth
The old traveler told Kai an ancient story.
Long ago, a powerful guardian dragon protected the land of Arkenfall.
Its name was Dravaryn, the Dragon of Light.
Dravaryn kept the balance between light and darkness.
But one day, a dark sorcerer tried to steal the dragon's power.
A great battle happened in the sky above the mountain.
To stop the sorcerer, Dravaryn used the last of his magic to seal both of them inside the mountain.
Since then, the Dark Mountain had remained silent.
Until now.
"The seal is weakening," the old traveler said.
"If the sorcerer escapes, the entire world will fall into darkness."
Kai's heart started beating faster.
"Why are you telling me this?"
The old man looked directly into his eyes.
"Because you are the one who must enter the mountain."
The Journey Begins
That night, Kai could not sleep.
The old man's words kept repeating in his mind.
Finally, before sunrise, Kai made a decision.
He packed food, a knife, and a small lantern.
Then he began walking toward the Dark Mountain.
The journey took two days.
The forest became darker the closer he got to the mountain.
Strange sounds echoed through the trees.
But Kai continued forward.
Finally, he reached the base of the mountain.
The air felt cold and heavy.
In front of him was a giant cave entrance leading deep into the mountain.
Kai took a deep breath.
"This is it."
Inside the Mountain
The cave was darker than anything Kai had ever seen.
His lantern barely lit the path ahead.
The walls of the cave were covered with ancient symbols and carvings.
Some of them showed a giant dragon.
Others showed a shadowy figure with glowing eyes.
Kai walked deeper and deeper.
After a long time, the cave suddenly opened into a massive underground chamber.
In the center of the chamber stood something incredible.
A giant dragon made of shining silver scales.
But it was not moving.
The dragon was trapped inside a crystal prison.
Kai whispered in shock.
"Dravaryn..."
Suddenly, the dragon's eyes opened.
The Dragon Awakens
The dragon's golden eyes looked directly at Kai.
A deep voice echoed in the chamber.
"Human..."
Kai stepped back in fear.
"You can talk?"
The dragon smiled slightly.
"All dragons can."
Kai slowly approached the crystal.
"Can I help you?"
Dravaryn looked tired.
"The seal is breaking. The dark sorcerer will soon awaken."
As if the dragon's words summoned him, the ground began to shake.
A dark shadow appeared behind them.
A tall figure stepped out of the darkness.
His eyes burned with dark fire.
The sorcerer had awakened.
The Battle
The sorcerer laughed.
"After centuries… I am finally free."
Kai grabbed his knife, but he knew it would not help.
The sorcerer raised his hand.
Dark energy filled the chamber.
Dravaryn shouted,
"Break the crystal!"
Kai quickly searched for a weak spot.
Then he found a glowing crack.
Using all his strength, he struck it with a rock.
CRACK!
The crystal shattered.
Dravaryn roared as he finally broke free.
The dragon spread his massive wings.
Light filled the chamber.
The final battle had begun.
Light vs Darkness
The sorcerer attacked with powerful dark magic.
But Dravaryn answered with blazing dragon fire.
The entire mountain trembled.
Kai watched in awe as the dragon and the sorcerer fought.
Finally, Dravaryn gathered all his power.
A beam of brilliant light shot from his mouth.
The sorcerer screamed as the light destroyed him forever.
The darkness disappeared.
The battle was over.
A New Legend
The mountain slowly became quiet again.
Dravaryn turned toward Kai.
"You have saved this land."
Kai shook his head.
"You did the real fighting."
The dragon smiled.
"Without your courage, I would still be trapped."
Before leaving, Dravaryn gave Kai a single silver scale.
"This will always protect you."
Then the great dragon flew into the sky for the first time in centuries.
Kai watched as the dragon disappeared into the clouds.
When he returned to Green Hollow, the villagers could hardly believe his story.
But the black clouds above the Dark Mountain were gone.
And sometimes, people claimed they could see a silver dragon flying across the sky.
From that day on, Kai became known as
The Boy Who Freed the Dragon.
And his story became one of the greatest legends in all of Arkenfall.
