The next morning, Nayeon immediately went to see Dohyun in his room and brought breakfast for him too. She knocked and when he allowed her to enter she kept the tray of breakfast on a table beside the bed.
Dohyun was surprised to see her so early in the morning.
"What are you doing here, Nayeon?" He began. "It's way too early for you to be here."
Nayeon looked concerned and sat beside him on the bed.
"I wanted to apologise for yesterday..." She said.
Dohyun was confused.
"Yesterday? What happened yesterday?"
"The way I abruptly changed the topic when you were talking about spoiling me as your fiancée. You seemed offended and went to bed. I'm sorry about that."
Dohyun smiled.
Then he suddenly pulled Nayeon into a hug and she was taken aback.
"D-Dohyun...?" She was confused.
"It's true that I did take offence when you suddenly changed the topic yesterday, but why would I be angry with you? I want to get closer to you, Nayeon." Dohyun let her go and looked into her eyes. "Don't you feel the same way?"
Nayeon was lost in his eyes for a brief moment.
"Of course. I want to get closer to you as well, Dohyun."
"Makes me glad to hear that."
Nayeon thought if it was a good time to confess her feelings to Dohyun. But she was just under a marriage contract with him and she thought it was way too soon. Though, the fact that he acted more in love with her off-camera than he did when they were in public made her feel a certain way that felt good.
Nayeon hugged Dohyun again and he embraced her too.
Then they spent some time together in Dohyun's room, talking about the things they didn't usually talk about and getting to know each other more. Dohyun also ate the breakfast that Nayeon made for him and was satisfied with the taste.
Nayeon left Dohyun's room much later and went to take a bath. Then she received a sudden call from Haerin after taking a bath.
Nayeon immediately picked up.
"Hello, Haerin." She began. "How are you and the others?"
Haerin sounded happy on the phone.
"I'm great, Nayeon." She spoke. "I have some news to tell you."
"Really? What is it?"
"Heeseung and I are dating."
Nayeon was shocked but happy to hear that. Despite Haerin being thirty-two and Heeseung being thirty, she thought they would make an excellent match. Heeseung was diligent and hardworking, and so was the intelligent Haerin.
"That's wonderful news, Haerin. You both are really a match made in heaven."
"Thank you, Nayeon. How is the whole take fiancée thing going?"
Nayeon sighed.
"It's going well. There are some certain things that Dohyun does that makes me feel butterflies..."
"Oh? Like what?"
"He's caring in private and public. I think I'm falling for him."
"That's so sweet to hear Nayeon. Maybe you and Dohyun will be the new couple after me and Heeseung."
"Who knows...? Anyway, how are Minju and Ariyana? Have they heard the news?"
"Yes, but not Ariyana. Minju seemed not to take the news well."
"How?"
"I think she also likes Heeseung. He's a nice guy, so it's obvious that Minju would like him. He's also really good with Ariyana and plays with her a lot. Ariyana also liked being with him. Heeseung and I have been seeing each other a lot after you came out of the hospital and we have now fallen for each other. He was the first to confess his feelings."
"Minju can't have Heeseung at this point. I will speak to her."
"Please do, Nayeon. She has been acting so cold towards me lately."
Nayeon assured Haerin that she would speak to Minju and immediately called her after talking to Haerin. Minju didn't pick up the first few times that Nayeon called which started to make her worry. But when she finally picked up, Nayeon felt relieved.
"Minju, thank goodness you picked." Nayeon began. "I was starting to get worried."
"Sorry about that, Nayeon." Minju said. "I was attending to Ariyana."
"Why? What happened to her?"
"She seems to be having a bit of a cold and has been coughing and sneezing. I've given her medications and tea but nothing seems to be working."
"Have you taken her to a hospital?"
"No. I don't have the money to take her there."
"I'll send you the money. Just get Ariyana examined."
"Thanks, Nayeon. You're an amazing sister."
"No problem. Have you told Haerin about Ariyana's condition?"
"She doesn't need to know about it..."
"Are you unhappy that she and Heeseung are dating?"
Minju went silent for a bit.
"I can't say that i'm happy about her dating someone I was interested in. But i would never try to interfere with their relationship just because I like Heeseung."
"That's good to know. But you should not ignore her. Haerin has been a huge help to us anyway."
"I will try. I won't make her leave Heeseung for me."
There were intense coughing noises in the background from Minju's side.
"I have to go, Ariyana seems to be getting worse." Minju abruptly hung up and Nayeon's started to worry.
Was her niece going to be alright? That was what was in her mind at the moment. She immediately transferred the money to Minju and told her to take Ariyana to the hospital immediately.
Nayeon sat on her bed and remembered when she used to work in Amazing Water for Dohyun. Heeseung was a kind colleague to her, and how she had been jealous of Leah which caused them to get into fights. She remembered when she and Dohyun were at the flower shop together when they were close, but not as close as they were now. She remembered Kyujin and those memories made her uncomfortable. She remembered Doctor Sujin and how she had put a stop to what she recommended for her to be doing everything. Ever since she signed that contract with Dohyun, her life couldn't have been more different.
