Chapter 3 - Chapter 3-The wedding day

It was her wedding day.

Anaya looked at her reflection in the mirror. The makeup artist carefully applied the final touches to her bridal makeup. Her long hair was styled beautifully and decorated with fresh jasmine flowers.

She was wearing a stunning red bridal lehenga embroidered with golden thread. The heavy jewelry around her neck sparkled every time she moved.

For a moment, she barely recognized herself.

"Anaya, you look so beautiful!" her cousin Meera said excitedly as she entered the room.

Another cousin added jokingly, "Araav will forget how to breathe when he sees you."

Everyone in the room laughed.

But Anaya only smiled softly.

Inside her heart, she felt nervous.

She was about to marry a man she had only met a few times.

Yes, Araav seemed kind and respectful, but marriage was something very serious.

Her mother slowly walked toward her and placed a loving hand on her shoulder.

"Are you nervous?" she asked gently.

Anaya nodded slightly.

"A little."

Her mother smiled warmly.

"That's normal. But I know Araav is a good man. You will be happy."

Anaya hoped her mother was right.

Meanwhile, at the grand wedding hall, Araav stood near the decorated stage.

The hall looked magical. Golden lights hung from the ceiling, and the entire place was decorated with roses, marigolds, and jasmine flowers.

Araav was wearing a cream-colored sherwani with delicate embroidery. His hair was neatly styled, and he looked calm and confident.

But inside his mind, he was thinking deeply.

His best friend Karan stood beside him and teased, "So Mr. Araav Mehta… ready to say goodbye to your single life?"

Araav laughed quietly.

"I guess I have no choice now."

Another friend added, "Don't worry. Married life is not that scary."

Araav smiled, but his mind wandered back to the first time he met Anaya.

The café.

Her soft voice.

The way she answered his questions honestly without trying to impress him.

There was something different about her.

Something calm and genuine.

Soon the music inside the hall changed.

Everyone turned toward the entrance.

The bride was arriving.

Anaya slowly walked into the wedding hall with her cousins beside her.

Her eyes were lowered shyly as she carefully walked toward the stage.

The moment Araav saw her, he forgot everything else around him.

She looked breathtaking.

The red lehenga, the golden jewelry, the soft expression on her face—it all made her look like a princess.

For a few seconds, Araav simply stared at her.

Karan noticed this and whispered teasingly, "Close your mouth, bro. Everyone can see."

Araav quickly looked away, slightly embarrassed.

Anaya finally reached the stage.

When she stood beside him, Araav leaned slightly closer and said softly,

"You look beautiful."

Anaya's cheeks turned pink.

"Thank you," she replied quietly.

Soon the wedding rituals began.

The priest started chanting the sacred mantras as the families gathered around the holy fire.

The warm glow of the firelight made the entire stage look magical.

The first ritual was the Jaimala ceremony.

Both of them picked up flower garlands made of fresh roses.

Araav gently placed the garland around Anaya's neck.

Everyone clapped and cheered.

Then it was Anaya's turn.

She hesitated for a moment before placing the garland around Araav's neck.

Their eyes met briefly.

For the first time, they both felt the reality of the moment.

This was really happening.

They were about to become husband and wife.

The ceremony continued with several rituals guided by the priest.

Finally, the most important moment arrived.

Araav picked up the mangalsutra.

The entire hall became silent.

Slowly and carefully, he tied the sacred necklace around Anaya's neck.

Then he took a small pinch of sindoor and gently placed it in the parting of her hair.

The priest smiled warmly.

"With this ritual, you are now bound together as husband and wife."

Loud applause filled the hall.

Family members cheered and threw flower petals in the air.

Anaya felt a strange mix of emotions—happiness, nervousness, and excitement.

She looked at Araav standing beside her.

Just a few weeks ago, he had been a complete stranger.

Now he was her husband.

Someone she would share her life with.

Araav glanced at her and noticed the nervous look in her eyes.

He leaned slightly closer and whispered,

"Don't worry. Everything will be fine."

His calm voice made her feel a little better.

For the rest of the evening, the wedding celebrations continued with photos, laughter, and endless congratulations.

But deep inside, both Anaya and Araav knew something important.

Their story was only beginning.

They were married now.

But the real question remained…

Would their arranged marriage slowly turn into true love?

Or would the distance between two strangers remain forever?

Only time would tell.
