Chapter 24 - Chapter 25- fans and screams

The first day of principal photography in Tokyo turned a quiet street in Shibuya into a battlefield of flashbulbs and screaming fans. Thanks to the international success of Random Life, Cameron's face was now on as many magazine covers as Anastasia's. While Anastasia was the "Prodigy," Cameron was the "Icon"—the tall, golden-haired force of nature that the public was obsessed with.

The SurgeAs the crew prepared for a tracking shot, the thin line of security guards suddenly buckled. Hundreds of Japanese fans, invigorated by the sight of the "Duo" in person, surged forward. The orderly film set evaporated in seconds.

"Stasia!" Cameron's voice cut through the roar of the crowd.

Before the security team could even react, the girls were surrounded. Fans were reaching out, trying to touch Anastasia's hair or grab Cameron's jacket. Alex Sade, who had been standing by the monitors, tried to push his way through, but the sea of people was too dense.

The Protector's InstinctCameron didn't wait for help. The protective "burn" in her chest flared into a cold, focused adrenaline. She reached down, her height giving her a clear view over the crowd, and locked her arm around Anastasia's waist, pulling the smaller girl flush against her side.

"Stay close to me!" Cameron commanded.

Using her own body as a shield, Cameron began to move. She didn't use violence, but she used her presence—a mix of celebrity charm and intimidating authority. She kept one hand up, blocking the cameras that were inches from Anastasia's face, while her other arm held Anastasia in a grip of iron.

"Make a path!" Cameron shouted, her voice carrying over the screams. "Back up! Give her space!"

The fans, startled by Cameron's sudden, fierce intensity, actually began to part. Cameron guided Anastasia toward a narrow alleyway that led to their waiting armored Mercedes, her eyes darting around like a soldier in a combat zone.

The EscapeAlex finally broke through the perimeter, breathless. "The car is around the corner! I've got the door!"

He reached out to take Anastasia's other hand, but Cameron didn't let go. She steered Anastasia toward the vehicle, with Alex shielding their backs from the trailing paparazzi. As they reached the 500 SEL, Beth and Sarah were already inside, their faces pale with worry.

Cameron practically lifted Anastasia into the backseat before sliding in behind her, slamming the heavy door shut. The locks clicked into place with a definitive thump.

The AftermathInside the car, the silence was deafening compared to the chaos outside. Anastasia was breathing hard, her hair slightly mussed, but she looked remarkably calm.

"You okay?" Alex asked, leaning forward from the jump seat. He reached out to brush a stray lock of hair from Anastasia's forehead, his hand lingering for a second too long. "That was a close one."

"She's fine," Cameron snapped, her voice still sharp with protective energy. She pulled a silk scarf from her bag and began fixing Anastasia's hair herself, effectively blocking Alex's hand. "We've handled crowds before."

"Not like that," Alex countered, his eyes fixed on Anastasia. "You were incredible, Anastasia. You didn't even flinch. But Cameron... you're like a one-woman security detail. I've never seen anything like it."

The New DynamicAnastasia looked from Cameron's flushed, protective face to Alex's admiring gaze. She felt the shift in the "fortress." For the first time, the walls weren't just protecting her from the industry—they were protecting her from the very people she was working with.

"Thank you, Alex," Anastasia said softly, her green eyes acknowledging his help. "But Cameron is right. I'm never in danger when she's standing next to me."

Cameron squeezed Anastasia's hand, the "burn" in her chest settling into a smug, satisfied warmth. She looked at Alex, a silent message in her blue eyes: You can help, but you'll never be the one she leans on.

As the Mercedes pulled away from the chaos and merged into the neon flow of Tokyo traffic, the Jones Firm realized that their popularity had reached a tipping point. They weren't just making a movie anymore; they were surviving a phenomenon.
