Rune asked, "How do I get to know more?"
He answered, "By reaching out from here. Through the fire letters." What?
She asked, "What are fire letters? Letters of fire, how the heck do you expect me to write with fire? Could you explain?" All her life she's sure she's never heard of such before now.
He moved closer to her, "Rune there's a lot more you'll need to know about hell. It's way more diverse than you think. The fire letters are part of those witchcraft manifestations you see to practise. You know when you write on a bay leaf, candle or a piece of paper and you burn it. That's a letter to hell and it's forces." He said.
"So you are saying all our manifestations and wishes, all the papers and secret candle burning, the use of fire in anything when writing is sending a letter to a deity?"
"Exactly, a typical example is…"
"HEKATE? Perhaps? Maybe?" She answered before he could complete his sentence.
"Exactly." He was surprised she knew. He asked, "Do you know her? The triple headed goddess?"
"I think I do." Suddenly the dream flashed before her eyes, just like a flashback before the main event. She remembered the keys and just immediately the gate of the melted ice cubes flew back to her tongue.
"Ethan? I had a dream once. About her and her dog, the keys too." She confessed.
"That's great. A good start if you ask me, have you noticed any other changes?"
"No Ethan, why?"
"She only talks to people, she needs for service."
Rune titled her head to the side, wondering why Hekate would want anything with her. "Why? I need more time than I need an altar and a mission for service."
"Well maybe she'll be the free pass you need."
She was stunned, the lady was way more than too stunned to speak. "Rune, but honestly where did you think those manifestations went? To heaven or ancestors I guess. No they went straight to demons and the demons took them straight to hell to meet the princes on their altars and the deities you prayed to." He said.
"So you are saying, none of any witchcraft practice done on earth goes unnoticed by any spirit?"
"Not one. Even the evil wishes of the heart affect the aura of the person and their energy. It's all a sequence, have you heard of chakras?"
"Yes but I didn't understand their importance until you just mentioned them. What are they?"
"Points of access to us. We need them to survive and we need them to use our abilities more."
"Hmm. Maybe I'll be able to get a hang of it."
She got up on her feet, "Where's the books? I need to read or check up on something quick."
She sat by the table, she opened the books, her eyes stumbled across the sigil, the symbols and the supposed spells written all over. She sat up trying to understand them, she couldn't. She crossed over to the chapters, she saw the runes and read properly about the rules and laws of witchcraft and sorcery associated with the princes.
To her eyes, the runes glowed, but to the ordinary they're were nothing but ink only. She stared at the glazing light captivating her senses until it stopped glowing. She stood and funny enough she had no idea she was standing. She sat once again on the chair. She waited for a while before she touched the books again.
It's been three hours after. It's midnight already, "Rune you should sleep. Time isn't the same here, or would you like to go see a court case of hell. We have our courts here, come and see how you got your judgement of death."
She replied, "But you know, I didn't get the judgement of suicide, so how did I get here? Also yes I'm coming with you." She wore a jacket, she wanted to walk out.
Ethan held her hand, "Rune? Where are you going? It's the courts."
"Aren't we walking there?" She asked.
"Walk? You are being now. We appear and disappear. Come with me, give me your hand." She agreed, extending her hand to him.
The princes of hell watched them silently, Belial asked, "What should be? Death or life?"
Asmodeus replied, "I would say death, what's the need of the human anyway? She's not sexual enough, too pure for earth."
Beelzebub asked, "And so she should die? What about her non-belief?"
Lilith replied, "She's neutral." Beelzebub turned to look at her.
He asked, "How did you get here? Is she your devotee?"
"Her grandmother. And why would you ask? Lord of the flies? Is there anything wrong with my presence? Are you afraid?"
Beelzebub laughed out, his minions joined him in his laughter. She stared at him silently. He replied, "Listen to me, I am Beelzebub! Beelzebub! The one and only Beelzebub! I take on the matters of the most on earth. Ask about me. You should know. I fear none! Before the you descended I was and before anyone of you descended I still was."
"I don't see your supremacy still, you let Asmodeus decide?" She said.
He knew this was nothing but a rage bait at it's finest. "I think you are here for something else, Lilith what could it be? What could it possibly be? Tell it to us woman."
She walked closer seductively and the whole assembly watched. "Greetings to the assembly of the flies! I take honour, Beelzebub, the lady lives and you stay out of it. After all it's a ladies matter."
"Excuse me?" Asmodeus asked. "You don't decide for us, the same way we don't decide for you. Get it straight." He warned.
"Or what?" She asked.
Asmodeus knew she was here for a definite rage bait. "Lilith leave us, this is my domain. You don't have any power here."
"Hmm. Well I've said my best. The girl belongs to me." She walked out of their presence.
Ethan could overhear the discussion and he held Rune close to himself, they appeared before the court gates of hell.
Rune stared in awe of what she saw.
