Knights of Favonius Headquarters
As one of the largest forces in Mondstadt, the Knights of Favonius occupied one of the best locations in the city—second only to the cathedral.
Their headquarters was a three-story stone castle, complete with an underground library and a top-floor attic. Aside from the cathedral, it was the only building of its kind in Mondstadt.
Although Jiang Chen had not officially joined the Knights, he had received special approval from both the Grand Master and the Church to carry a Favonius Sword. Because of that, he actually held considerable prestige among the Knights.
"Boss Jiang Chen?"
"Do you need help from the Knights of Favonius?"
The two knights guarding the entrance greeted him warmly.
"Is Kaeya here?" Jiang Chen asked.
"You're looking for Captain Kaeya?"
"Yes, he's here. He should be chatting with Wood in the first-floor hall."
The two knights saluted with their hands over their chests as he walked past.
First Floor Hall
Kaeya leaned against the wall with his arms crossed, chatting with Wood, the knight responsible for guarding the confinement room.
As the Cavalry Captain of the Knights of Favonius, Kaeya had his iconic dark blue hair and tan skin.
He wore a white shirt that exposed part of his chest, a blue coat, and a blue-and-white cloak. His Vision hung from a brown belt, while he wore black trousers and long boots.
No matter how you looked at him, he carried an air of carefree charm.
For the girls of Mondstadt, this handsome cavalry captain was certainly dream material.
In terms of popularity, only the wealthy Diluc might surpass him.
"The Immortal Who Walks on Ice Across the Sea!"
Jiang Chen waved as he called out.
Since he was facing the entrance, Kaeya noticed him immediately.
"Boss Jiang Chen, I've asked you many times not to call me by that nickname!"
Kaeya brushed his bangs aside and covered his forehead helplessly.
"And why am I the only one who gets a nickname personally given by Boss Jiang Chen? Shouldn't that honor go to Acting Grand Master Jean first? I'm just a small fry."
Even the way he brushed his hair was lethally charming—
at least if any Mondstadt girls had been present.
"You're calling yourself a small fry? Sounds about right for you."
Jiang Chen laughed.
He greeted Wood standing nearby.
"Klee's inside again?"
Jiang Chen asked.
Otherwise, Wood normally wouldn't be guarding the confinement room.
"Jean locked her up again. Apparently she blew up some fish."
Wood showed a pained expression.
All fish in Mondstadt's rivers and lakes were considered public property, and destroying them for any reason was prohibited by the Knights' regulations.
But Klee needed somewhere to test her bombs.
She couldn't blow up mountains—what if they caught fire?
So she threw them into water.
The problem was obvious.
There were always fish in the water.
Which meant Klee would inevitably break the rules.
Wood felt extremely miserable.
He didn't want to guard the confinement room every day.
He also had to constantly worry that Klee might conduct some dangerous experiment inside.
What if suddenly—
Boom!
—and the entire headquarters exploded?
"I'll talk to Jean later. I'll accompany Klee for a while."
Jiang Chen said.
Since Lumine had arrived in Mondstadt, the training plan he had postponed for a year could finally begin.
"I'm so touched…"
Wood said emotionally.
Jiang Chen quietly stepped a little farther away from him.
"So Boss Jiang Chen came to the Knights headquarters just for that?"
Kaeya asked.
"Of course not. I came specifically to see you."
"Oh?"
Kaeya looked surprised and saluted politely.
"To be able to help Mondstadt's pride would be an honor."
"You can skip the flattering words."
Jiang Chen didn't fall for that.
"I'm here to ask the Knights to evacuate Mondstadt's citizens."
"Evacuate the citizens?"
Kaeya frowned.
According to his intelligence network, there had been no signs of a large-scale attack by the Abyss Order or the Fatui recently.
"If nothing unexpected happens," Jiang Chen said seriously,
"Stormterror will come."
"Boss Jiang Chen… do you have informants?"
That was Kaeya's first thought.
"Do you think informants can move faster than Stormterror flying?"
"…Fair point."
Kaeya pondered.
"But Boss Jiang Chen, what's your basis for this?"
"If we mobilize the Knights and evacuate citizens without a convincing reason, the Knights will obey—but the people of Mondstadt will definitely become dissatisfied."
Knights followed orders.
But the citizens needed an explanation.
Kaeya was also curious.
Why was Jiang Chen so certain?
Of course, Jiang Chen couldn't tell him the truth—that the increasingly violent Stormterror was about to attack the city.
Instead, he raised his hand.
A sphere of Anemo energy gathered in his palm.
"The wind direction."
Jiang Chen said.
Meanwhile — Statue of the Anemo Archon Plaza
"Ta-da!"
"It's this—Wind Glider!"
Amber proudly showed the Wind Glider she had brought to Lumine and Paimon.
"Outrider scouts use it to move through the air, and the citizens of Mondstadt love using it too."
"I brought you here so you can experience how great it is!"
Amber introduced it enthusiastically.
"That's a very enthusiastic recommendation!"
Paimon clapped.
"Well, the wind is the soul of Mondstadt."
Amber said naturally.
"The wind…"
Lumine put on the wind glider and stretched out her hand, feeling the wind blowing from the mountains beyond Cider Lake.
She murmured softly:
"Pay attention to the wind direction…"
