Chapter 1 - The Archangel Who Fell into the Abyss

The battlefield between Heaven and the Abyss had long since turned into a graveyard of light and darkness.

Cracked mountains floated in the air, suspended by violent currents of magic. Rivers of black flame crawled across the broken land while streaks of divine light tore through the dark sky like falling stars.

For centuries, angels and demons had clashed in this cursed battlefield.

But today…

The battle had reached a terrifying peak.

"Push forward! Do not let the demons advance!"

A booming voice echoed across the sky as hundreds of angelic warriors surged forward, their wings shining like blazing suns.

Leading them was a single figure.

Six radiant wings spread across the heavens like a halo of divine authority.

Golden armor reflected the light of Heaven itself, and a sword of pure divine energy burned in his hand.

He was known across the battlefield as the Heavenly Commander.

The Archangel — Aurelion.

His cold golden eyes scanned the battlefield without emotion.

"Demonic forces are gathering near the eastern rift," one of the angels reported nervously.

Aurelion raised his sword.

A wave of divine light exploded from his blade, instantly erasing dozens of charging demons.

The battlefield shook.

Demons screamed as their shadows burned away under the holy radiance.

"Advance."

Just one word.

Yet the angelic army surged forward like a tidal wave.

From the other side of the battlefield, a deep laugh echoed through the dark clouds.

"Well, well… Heaven really sent one of their prized Archangels today."

A portal of darkness slowly opened in the sky.

From within it stepped a woman.

The moment she appeared, the demonic army suddenly knelt.

Black silk armor wrapped around her elegant figure, decorated with crimson markings that glowed faintly with abyssal power.

Long midnight hair flowed down her back like a river of darkness.

But the most terrifying thing about her…

Were her eyes.

Deep crimson.

Eyes that looked like they had witnessed countless wars.

She was one of the rulers of the Abyss.

One of the Seven Princesses of the Abyss.

Princess Nytheria.

She gazed down at the battlefield lazily before her crimson eyes landed on Aurelion.

A slow smile curved across her lips.

"Oh?"

Her voice carried across the battlefield effortlessly.

"An Archangel."

The demons around her trembled in excitement.

Aurelion's gaze met hers.

Cold.

Unmoving.

"Demon Princess."

Nytheria tilted her head slightly.

"My, how polite."

Her crimson eyes glimmered with interest.

She stepped forward.

Each step caused the air itself to tremble as abyssal power surged around her like a living storm.

"Tell me something, Archangel," she said casually.

Her smile widened.

"Are all angels as handsome as you?"

The angel soldiers behind Aurelion froze in shock.

Aurelion's expression didn't change.

"You talk too much."

His wings burst with light.

And in the next instant—

He vanished.

BOOM!

The air exploded as his sword crashed toward Nytheria.

But the demon princess simply lifted one slender finger.

CLANG!

The divine blade stopped inches from her face.

The collision of holy and abyssal power shattered the ground beneath them.

Nytheria's smile widened.

"Oh my… you're aggressive."

With a flick of her hand, a massive wave of darkness erupted outward.

Aurelion shot backward through the air, stabilizing himself with a powerful flap of his wings.

For a moment, the battlefield fell silent.

Two rulers stood facing each other.

Light against darkness.

Angel against demon.

Nytheria licked her lips slightly.

"This is exciting."

Then she vanished.

Aurelion's eyes sharpened.

Behind him—

A claw of shadow ripped through the air.

BOOM!

The attack sent shockwaves across the battlefield.

Angels and demons alike were forced to retreat as the two titans clashed again and again.

Sword against shadow.

Light against darkness.

Each collision cracked the sky.

Minutes passed.

Neither side gained the advantage.

Finally, Aurelion raised his sword high into the air.

"Divine Judgment."

A massive pillar of heavenly light descended from the sky.

The battlefield trembled violently.

Nytheria's eyes widened slightly.

"Well… that's dangerous."

Darkness exploded around her as she unleashed her own power.

"Abyssal Dominion."

The two attacks collided.

For a moment—

Time seemed to freeze.

Light and darkness twisted together violently.

Then something unexpected happened.

Deep within the collision of their powers…

An ancient symbol suddenly appeared.

A glowing circle formed beneath their feet.

Runes older than Heaven and the Abyss themselves began to awaken.

Nytheria frowned.

"…What is this?"

Aurelion's eyes narrowed.

The ground trembled.

A strange energy surged through both of them.

Then—

The ancient seal activated.

A blinding flash of light erupted across the battlefield.

BOOM!

The explosion threw both armies backward.

When the dust finally settled…

Aurelion staggered in the air.

His wings flickered weakly.

Something was wrong.

He looked down at his chest.

A strange glowing mark had appeared there.

Nytheria slowly stood up across from him.

She touched the same glowing mark on her own chest.

Their eyes met.

Realization dawned simultaneously.

"…"

"…"

They had been bound.

A forbidden connection had formed between them through the ancient Eternal Soul Seal.

Nytheria suddenly laughed softly.

"Well… this is awkward."

Aurelion's vision blurred.

The immense clash of power had drained him more than expected.

His wings trembled.

His sword slipped from his hand.

Then—

The proud Archangel of Heaven collapsed from the sky.

Far below, demons gasped in shock.

Nytheria's eyes widened.

Before anyone could react—

She vanished.

A second later, she appeared beneath the falling Archangel.

She caught him in her arms.

The battlefield froze.

Thousands of demons stared in disbelief.

The Princess of the Abyss was holding an Archangel.

Nytheria looked down at his unconscious face.

Up close, he looked… peaceful.

Too peaceful for someone who had just fought her moments ago.

Her crimson eyes softened slightly.

"How strange."

She gently brushed a strand of silver hair from his face.

"You're supposed to be my enemy."

The glowing mark on her chest pulsed again.

Nytheria sighed.

"Looks like fate has a strange sense of humor."

Then she turned toward the Abyss.

"Retreat."

The demons stared at her in confusion.

"Princess?"

Nytheria's voice turned cold.

"That was not a request."

Moments later, the entire demonic army began retreating into the darkness.

High above the battlefield, Nytheria held the unconscious Archangel in her arms.

Her crimson eyes studied his face once more.

"Archangel…"

A faint smile appeared on her lips.

"Let's see what kind of trouble you bring to my palace."

With that, the Princess of the Abyss disappeared into the darkness—

Taking Heaven's Archangel with her.
