Chapter 5 - Gifted for a reason

Rain tapped softly against the classroom windows.

Most students were half asleep, their heads resting on their desks as the teacher explained another complicated problem on the board.

"Alright," the teacher said after finishing the explanation. "This one is difficult. I don't expect anyone to solve it today."

A few students sighed in relief.

But in the back of the classroom, a pen kept moving.

Scratch. Scratch.

He finished writing and calmly raised his hand.

The teacher looked surprised. "Yes?"

"I solved it."

A few students laughed quietly.

"There's no way," someone whispered.

The teacher walked over and took his notebook.

For a moment, she said nothing.

Her eyes moved across the page again… and again.

Every step was correct.

Not just correct.

Perfect.

The classroom slowly grew silent as the teacher looked up at him.

"How did you do this so quickly?"

He leaned back in his chair, staring out the window at the falling rain.

People always asked the same question.

How?

Why?

What made him different?

He finally looked back at her.

"You said it yourself," he replied calmly.

"This problem was difficult."

The teacher nodded slightly.

"But difficulty only matters," he continued,

"if you weren't born to solve it."

The room fell silent again.

He picked up his pen and spun it between his fingers.

"Some people work hard to become good."

His eyes were steady, almost cold.

"But some of us…"

He paused.

"…were gifted for a reason."

And somewhere in that quiet classroom, a realization slowly began to grow.

Maybe this boy wasn't just a smart student.

Maybe he was someone meant to change everything.
