One night Maya woke up suddenly.
Adrian wasn't in bed.
She walked quietly toward the living room.
His voice drifted from the balcony.
"…she still doesn't suspect anything," Adrian whispered.
Maya froze.
Her heart started beating faster.
A voice replied faintly from the phone.
"What about the others?"
Adrian laughed softly.
"They never suspect anything."
Maya felt a cold wave run through her body.

Before she could hear more, Adrian stepped back inside.
Maya quickly pretended to be asleep.
