Mr Light! Mr Light!
The reporter's voice cut through the noise of cameras and flashing lights.
"How did you become someone like this?" she asked, leaning forward with curiosity. "I mean. how did you rise to this level?"
The room became quiet.
Journalists from different media houses sat waiting. Some were typing already, others held microphones close to my face.
Today I was known as one of the richest entrepreneurs in Africa. The founder of LITECHS , a company that built solar infrastructure across several African countries.
But none of them knew the full story.
I leaned back in my chair and smiled.
"You should read my book," I said calmly.
The reporters laughed softly.
"Come on, Mr Light," the woman said again. "We want to hear it from you."
I looked around the hall. Cameras. Lights. Faces waiting.
Then I nodded slowly.
"Alright," I said.
"Let me tell you where it all started."
And just like that, my mind travelled back many years… to a time before money, before success, before power.
