Chapter 21 - The Girl Who Broke Time

Lena stared at the girl walking through the frozen station.

Everyone else around them was completely still.

But the girl moved easily through the motionless crowd, like time had no effect on her.

She looked about the same age as Lena.

Dark hair.

Sharp eyes.

And a calm expression, as if she had seen this situation many times before.

Daniel whispered, "How is she doing that?"

The tall stranger turned slowly.

For the first time, his expression changed slightly.

"Another anomaly," he said coldly.

The girl stopped a few meters away from them.

She crossed her arms and looked directly at the three strangers.

"Still trying to fix the timeline?" she said casually.

Her voice was confident.

Almost amused.

Lena frowned.

"You know them?"

The girl glanced at Lena and Daniel.

"Unfortunately."

Daniel looked confused.

"Who are you?"

The girl smiled slightly.

"My name is Aria."

She stepped closer.

"And I've been running from these timeline hunters for three years."

Lena's eyes widened.

"Three years?"

Aria nodded.

"They control time. They predict actions. And they erase people who change the future."

The tall stranger spoke again.

"You were supposed to be corrected long ago, Aria."

Aria laughed.

"Yeah… you've tried that before."

Her eyes suddenly became serious.

"But I'm still here."

The two other strangers began walking toward her.

Aria sighed.

"You guys really don't give up."

Lena's phone vibrated again.

A message from her future self appeared.

"Aria was the first anomaly."

Another message followed.

"She broke the timeline before you."

Lena looked back at Aria in surprise.

Aria noticed her expression.

"Ah… so you're getting messages too."

Daniel looked between them.

"Wait… what messages?"

Aria pointed at Lena's phone.

"From the future version of yourself."

Daniel's jaw dropped.

"You know about that too?"

Aria nodded.

"My future self warned me the same way."

She looked toward the tall stranger again.

"That's how I survived my 'scheduled death'."

The stranger's cold voice echoed through the frozen station.

"The more you interfere, the more unstable the timeline becomes."

Aria shrugged.

"Sounds like your problem."

The stranger lifted his hand slowly.

"Final correction begins."

The two other hunters started moving toward Lena and Daniel.

Daniel whispered nervously, "Okay… now I'm officially scared."

Aria cracked her knuckles.

"Relax."

Lena looked at her.

"You have a plan?"

Aria smiled slightly.

"Of course."

Then she said something that made Lena's heart race again.

"Because this isn't the first time we've fought them."

The tall stranger's eyes narrowed.

Aria stepped forward confidently.

"And tonight…"

She looked at Lena.

"…you're going to break the timeline even more."

Lena felt a strange mix of fear and determination.

Her phone vibrated again.

A final message from her future self appeared.

"This is where the real war begins."
