Love beyond hurt feelings
In a small village lived a mother and her son. The son's name was Rahul. Rahul worked in a city while his mother lived alone in the village. Calling his mother every day was the most important part of Rahul's routine.
One day, because of a small misunderstanding, Rahul spoke a little harshly to his mother. His mother felt hurt. From that day, she stopped answering his phone calls.
Rahul kept calling again and again.
"Mom… please pick up the phone."
But the phone kept ringing, and no one answered.
Rahul felt very sad. Even while working, he kept thinking about his mother. He wondered, "Is Mom so upset that she doesn't want to talk to me anymore?"
The next morning Rahul couldn't bear it anymore. He took leave from work and went straight to the village. Standing at the door of his house, he softly called,
"Mom… I'm here."
His mother opened the door. There was a little hurt on her face, but her eyes showed hidden happiness.
Rahul went close to her and said,
"Mom, I'm sorry. I made a mistake. Please don't be angry. I didn't feel good at all without talking to you."
Tears filled his mother's eyes. She hugged him and said,
"My son, I also don't feel good when you don't call me. Sometimes hurt feelings come from love."
From that day Rahul understood that a mother's hurt feelings are just another form of love. ❤️
