"My mother's right there and we need to leave. I'll see you when I see you." They smile at each other and they hug again. Zephyr walks into the firm, Xander sits in the car.
Aurora drives away and acts like she didn't see him or Zephyr. They reach the igloo after three hours.
Aurora starts the topic, "Astrid?! Where are the papers? The one's your father wrote on, did he mention Void having a son that looks like him?"
Astrid turns to her asking, "A son? Is he cute? Is he single? Is he tall?"
Mara responds with sarcasm, "Of course he is, he's the son of the villain isn't he?" She drops the paper she had in her hands to respond. She walks to the car to get the machines out.
Astrid responds, "I just want to know, after all I noticed most nerd guys look cute or hot."
Xander asked, "Any news from dad? I think I have a few."
He drops the boxes and he sits by the laptop, "I have a few details about the firm and the entire system. I think we need to know who's still there and who's leaving, that's besides Doctor Marcus Evergreen. He left."
He logs into his firm's system. He scans through the list of staff, "Adding his son to be the director of the firm, lucky enough for me I'm his friend. He erased everyone else, he left just the women. All the men are out, it's looking like they resigned." He scanned again and saw another document, "Wait, there's still there. They just logged out of the firm, they are all there, even Evergreen."
Aurora logs into her own laptop, she signs into the firm. She scans through the new aspects, "He's changing the fonts and the rules. This man wants to destroy something and he wants to rebirth something too. But wait, why do I see the name Vexis on the list? This must be another person then, can the executioner become a scientist too? He wants to overthrow the system with his evil scheme?"
Luna tries to get their attention, "Announcement everyone! I found a means to communicate with him, I attached this wire to this speaker and I think we have enough blood from Xander, we can make communication last a bit longer if something from our side bonded with his side. What do you think?" She pulls out the wire.
Aurora supports her, "Let's try it." She takes the blood from his veins and she pours it into the four of them. The portal opens up, she throws the mic into the portal. Galen gets it.
"Hello? Is anyone there?" They are all happy and surprised at the hearing of his voice.
Luna responds, "Yes! Yes I'm here dad!"
He laughs and responds, "Luna? How are you? Where is Xander? Tell him I need food and water. I'm starving, please." She yells for Xander to send food and water but Astrid already poured more blood into the new four machines they set, now they have two portals open. She sends the food and the water.
Galen responds, "It's received, thank you. You opened another portal, I don't think it's a good idea. The stronger the portal, the stronger the signal, if Void picks up on it, it'll be over."
She shuts it down, he continues speaking, "You know I tried the two, it'll close soon. I'll need to throw the mic up or else it'll cause a loophole and that'll attract Void as well. Also you found the first and the second gate, now get to the third and fourth and till you reach the seventh, don't stop. Void shouldn't get there before you." His voice starts to break little by little. He knows and he throws the mic upwards, it passes the portal and it closes.
They remain silent. Mara exhaled and said, "Well at least we know he's alive and well, we know what to do next and we surely know what to avoid and who to avoid." She goes back to her laptop. She noticed Aurora staring at her as she spoke and as she walked back to her seat.
She ignored the look anyway, Aurora walked up to her quietly, she whispers, "Hey," Mara acts like she didn't hear her whisper.
Aurora sat by her, "I know you can hear me, I want us to talk right now." Mara exhaled and continued searching, Aurora took her hand to the back of Mara's neck.
Mara turns her gaze to Aurora. "What? Do you see me now," She whispered back.
"Why are you acting like this? I want us to talk like the adults we are," Mara stared into her eyes, she stared at her lips too. Xander notices this about her, he turns his eyes away from their feelings. He remembered having the same feelings for Zephyr once and Zephyr had it for him too.
Aurora warned her, "Don't stare at me like that. I'm not interested." Mara grinned at her statement. She moves away from Aurora.
Mara takes her attention towards the others, Aurora feels deeply rejected. She decided it'll be better to go somewhere else for the sake of her personal pleasure. She walks out of the room, she drives off to the laboratory to clear her head through a longer time. She sits by the desk, she logs into her system.
Void received the signal from his computer, from a distance he stared at her. He liked her physical features, after all he needed a special ally. He walked out of his office but before he left he decided it'd make more sense to actually take some sort of gift with him. He gets a cup of milky coffee, he sits in front of her desk. At first she didn't notice him at first, he stood. She saw a shadow hovering over her and she turned her attention to him and away from her clouded thoughts.
"Good evening sir." She stopped her hands from moving on the keyboard of her laptop. He smiled at her, making her heart skip a beat. She liked his smile. He had a fine physic for a villain, he smiled at her. He hands her a cup, he sits by her side. He seemed humble.
He greets, "Good evening Aurora, how are you? Are you well? I didn't expect you to be here by this hour. You looked upset when you walked through the building doors." He took his hands to her hair and he threw it to the back, he took his hand to her face and he kissed her cheeks.
He pulled away from her, he asked, "Are you always like this? Do you always have a silent side? Do you need help?"
She smiled at him, she replied, "No I'm good, I'm alright. I just wanted myself to be alone, it's been a while since I've had my personal space since the whole system changed. How are you sir?"
He smiled at her again, "Don't call me sir when we are together. I don't like it. You can call me Void if you want but not sir." Her eyes widened at his statement and all she could stare at was his eyes and his lips.
He exhaled, the intense silence hit and he said, "I brought you the coffee and it's getting cold."
She replied, "Thank you sir… I mean Void." She took a sip from it.
He asked, "Will you be my personal assistant?"
