Story

The first rain of July had just begun.

Students rushed out of coaching classes, opening umbrellas and running for autos. But Aanya stood near the gate, eyes closed, letting the cool breeze touch her face.

Rain made her feel calm. Like the world had slowed down.

That's when she heard music.

Soft guitar notes.

She opened her eyes.

Across the street, under a bus stop shade, a boy was playing guitar while waiting for the rain to slow. A few people stood nearby, but he wasn't performing for them.

He was just… feeling the music.

Aanya didn't know why, but she couldn't look away.

The boy looked up mid-tune.

Their eyes met.

He smiled politely.

She quickly looked away.

But a tiny smile appeared on her face too.

The Second Meeting

Next evening.

Same time. Same rain.

And the same guitar.

This time Aanya crossed the road.

"You play beautifully," she said softly.

The boy looked surprised. "Thank you… I'm Vivaan."

"Aanya."

Rain grew heavier.

Neither of them left.

Small Conversations

Days turned into a pattern.

🌧 Rain

🎸 Guitar

💬 Long talks

They spoke about everything:

Favorite songs

Dream colleges

Fear of growing up

Why sunsets feel emotional

Vivaan learned Aanya sketched the sky every evening.

Aanya learned Vivaan wrote music when he couldn't say things out loud.

The Sketchbook

One day, Aanya handed him her sketchbook.

Inside were drawings of clouds, streets, raindrops…

And one new sketch.

A boy playing guitar under a bus stop.

Vivaan stared at it, speechless.

"You noticed?" he asked.

Aanya nodded. "Artists notice feelings."

The Confession

Final exam results came.

Different colleges. Different cities.

Last rainy evening together.

Vivaan held his guitar but didn't play.

"I'm not good with big speeches," he said.

"So I'll say it simply."

"When it rains… I look for you first."

Aanya's heart raced.

She smiled. "When it rains… I hope you're playing somewhere."

Silence.

Comfortable. Honest.

Vivaan extended his hand.

"Stay in my story?"

Aanya placed her hand in his.

"Only if you stay in mine."

Epilogue

Years later…

A famous art exhibition.

A music concert next door.

Two names on posters side by side.

Outside, it began to rain.
