Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: Habit Becomes Second Nature

Luo Cheng ate his breakfast. The bread was toasted to a golden crisp—simple but not crude. Licking his fingers, he looked at the orange-haired "loli" before him, who was also the supreme administrator of Tracen, Akikawa Yayoi. If Rudolf was second only to one and above ten thousand, the only person who could overrule her was the Chairwoman.

Right now, that supreme leader was acting like a child, cupping her cheeks and swaying her head as she watched him. According to the game setting, she was his boss. But looking at her, Luo Cheng couldn't associate her with that role at all.

In the game world, he hadn't felt much other than that she was convenient and always available. But now, he noticed the heart of a mature woman hidden beneath her youthful exterior. Since a moment ago, Yayoi had been brushing her leg against his, her shoes removed, using her soft toes to tease him.

"Don't forget to drink your milk." She pushed the glass toward him, her foot never stopping its movements.

Luo Cheng didn't know if she was hinting at some "subordinate-on-superior" action or if it was just instinct. In the game world, his favorite thing was playing with Yayoi's feet; they were soft and tender, and they smelled faintly of primrose. After doing it for a long time, she would instinctively kick off her shoes whenever he pulled her into his lap.

In the game world, a horse girl would develop conditioned reflexes if an action was repeated often enough. For instance, when Luo Cheng reached out to Teio, she would instinctively lean her face in. If he sat next to Manhattan Cafe, she would proactively lie on his lap. Their bodies had formed these reflections. Horse girls grew; over two months, he had seen Teio push heavier boulders and run faster, even her cries became more melodic.

Since they could grow according to reality, it was only natural that they would form habits—habits he had cultivated.

"I'm finished." He downed the milk in one gulp and stood up.

"You're already late anyway, so no need to rush every second."

He wished his teachers had said that to him when he was in school. Too bad he could never go back.

Like Teio, the Chairwoman's affection for him was very high. Otherwise, who would go to an employee's dorm to wake them up and make them breakfast? A real boss would use the simplest way to stop you from making mistakes: docking your pay.

It seemed his decision to max out the Chairwoman's bond was the right move. In the workplace, the most important thing was the relationship with your superiors. If the relationship was bad, you got all the grunt work. If it was good, even if you messed up, they'd cover for you.

With his current relationship with the Chairwoman, being "given small shoes"—sabotaged—was impossible. Instead, he was the one taking her shoes off. If he performed well, he might even get a promotion and a raise in a few months.

Promotion and a raise... Luo Cheng almost laughed at the thought. He had no idea how long this life would last. Toying with the Chairwoman was far more practical.

"Luo Cheng." Yayoi cupped his face. "Buckle up! Bring all your energy to your work! Do you understand!" She spoke with great conviction.

"Yes."

Instead of worrying about whether he would go back, he might as well focus on the present. No matter the outcome, he wanted the process to be enjoyable.

"I'm off then." Luo Cheng left the room.

Akikawa Yayoi watched him leave and finally clutched her hands to her chest. How wonderful.

Without knowing when it had started, Yayoi had become attracted to this man. Every time she saw him, she had an urge to sit on his lap and let him touch her. Not only that, but every time she got close to him, her body felt "itchy," as if fingers were tickling the soles of her feet, making her heart flutter along with them. She was an adult woman, after all; there were things she wanted to experience.

After confirming he was gone, Yayoi flopped onto his bed and hugged his blanket, burying her face in it and breathing deeply. It was full of his rich scent. It smells so good!

The tail hidden under her skirt wagged frantically as she looked entrazed. Although it was her first time in his room, she had a very familiar feeling—especially the scent of the blanket, which felt as if it were carved into her body, resonating with that primal urge. She slowly clamped the blanket between her legs.

Shh-shh, rustle-rustle...

The sound of friction against the bedding filled the room. Half an hour later, Akikawa Yayoi pulled off the damp duvet cover and stuffed it into the washing machine. Luo Cheng won't notice, will he?

Back at the office, Luo Cheng flipped through the Trainer's Handbook. He had learned a lot of training knowledge in that world, but at the end of the day, he was still a semi-amateur—maybe even less than that. He had only been able to succeed because he could see their stamina bars and physical states, following the game's flow. Now that those cues were gone, he had to rely on his memory to plan for Teio, learning as he went. He was starting to miss the days when he had a system.

After making some simple adjustments, Luo Cheng prepared to leave. He wanted to find Seiun Sky. Given their affection level, she likely wouldn't refuse a contract. Just then, a green figure strolled into the room. Seiun Sky walked in with a leisurely pace.

"Yah~ Trainer." She greeted him with a smile.

I was just thinking about you, and here you are, delivering yourself to me! I'll gladly accept.

"The morning classes are so tiring and boring. I'm going to take a good rest. I'm borrowing your room, Trainer." Seiun Sky flopped onto the sofa.

"Skipping a perfectly good class just to be lazy. How can you sleep? When I was your age... well, I suppose I was being lazy at your age too. Is this a common human trait?"

"Hehe~ Trainer has finally attained enlightenment. Humans hate trouble, and Sei-chan hates trouble, therefore Sei-chan is a human."

"As expected of the Sleeping Queen, stating a fact I wouldn't have noticed in a lifetime."

"You still have much to learn, Trainer." Sky wagged her tail, looking at Luo Cheng in his chair. "Have you been working this whole time?"

"Yeah."

"Any interest in contemplating life with Sei-chan?"

Luo Cheng didn't beat around the bush. He walked over and lay down right next to her. The two of them were squeezed together on the narrow sofa.

"Wait... Trainer?"

Seiun Sky's eyes widened. She had only meant to tease him, but he had actually come over! His sturdy body was pressed against hers, his firm chest against her cheek; she could feel his strong heartbeat. Blood rushed to her head, and her own heart began to hammer away.

"Sky."

"Yes?" she whispered, swallowing hard. So close... what does he want? Is he going to "do" me!? Really? Right here? I guess that's okay too.

"Will you sign a contract with me?"

Sky had been ready for a stormy encounter, closing her eyes and waiting for him to make a move, her eyelashes fluttering. When she heard that sentence, she tilted her head.

Eh?
