Synopsis
Lily Sanders thought the hardest thing about her new job would be keeping up with the impossible demands of being a junior architect and working for one of the city's most formidable men. She was wrong. Hunter Blackwell is a 165 year-old vampire, devastatingly handsome and powerful. He has spent the better part of two centuries keeping his true nature carefully hidden behind boardrooms and tailored suits. As the head of Blackwell Incorporated, one of the most prestigious architectural firms in the city of Chicago, he has built a million dollar empire. He does not lose focus. He does not make exceptions. And he most certainly does not fall in love. Then Lily Sanders walks in. And Hunter, for the first time in over a century, finds himself undone by something as simple as a shivering young woman in the middle of his Tower's lobby, looking to get a job. What begins as an office affair, grows into a romance that neither of them are willing to call off. But the night Lily asks Hunter to feed on her, everything changes. Lily is not the ordinary girl who she believes herself to be. She is the last living descendant of one of the most powerful witch bloodlines ever recorded — a lineage so powerful that even a single drop of her blood, freely given, was enough to wake forces that should have stayed sleeping forever. Neither of them saw it coming. Now they must face it together.

Chapter 1 - Chapter One: Lily

Chapter One

Lily

Hunter planted small kisses on Lily's back at the same time he thrust his penis into her vagina.

He was gentle with her, moving slowly at first, but increasing his speed gradually. Every vein in him pulsed with need as he grunted and groaned.

Lily was kneeling on a chair Hunter had placed in front of the large mirror on the dresser in his room.

Their clothes lay scattered on the floor of His large bedroom in his penthouse at the very top of Blackwell Tower. It was forty-two floors above Chicago, sleek and cold and beautiful.

One look at it, and only one word came

to the mind of any observer. Wealth.

The two glasses of wine they had earlier that night, stood empty on the bedside table.

"Do you like that, Baby girl?"

"Yes," she whispered with shaky breath, arching her buttocks upwards to take in the full length of Hunter's penis. With each thrust, he grew inside her until he was completely stretched out and hard.

"You're perfect, Lily," he said looking up at the mirror without stopping. Her vagina moistened even more, as though in response to his words.

"I like how you fuck me, Hunter. Don't stop, please," she said breathlessly.

"I won't. You're so delicious, it's almost bewitching." He moaned, slowly trailing his fingers across the length of her back.

He moved his hands upwards again in search of her breasts. And when his hands found them, she closed her eyes and let out a soft moan.

Hunter grabbed her hair from behind and pulled her face back up. "Don't take your eyes off the mirror."

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry Hunter!"

"Louder!" He thundered, thrusting deeper.

"I'm sorry!" she cried out and began to squirt.

"You're driving me crazy squirting all over my cock like that, Lily."

"Wait," she stopped abruptly, turning around to face Hunter.

"I'm sorry, Baby. Did I hurt you?" Hunter stopped. As much as he enjoyed giving Lily pleasure, he was always conscious not to hurt her.

He was after all not human, and his strength was a reminder of the predator just under his skin.

Every touch required a delicate precision, to ensure that the hunger pulsing in his veins never overwhelmed the tenderness he knew Lily deserved.

"Not at all. I want you to bite me," Lily said, her voice sure and steady.

Hunter looked at her in shock. The careful wall of restraint he had built around all the hunger pulsing in veins, shook violently at the bold invitation in her eyes.

Lily seemed completely oblivious to the fact that she was offering him the very thing he

feared would destroy the humanity he fought so hard to mimic for her sake.

She smiled, pulling him by the neck into a kiss. Their tongues wrestled greedily until Hunter spoke.

"Lily, are you out of your mind?" He moved back again.

He had never once tasted her blood, neither did he ever intend to cross that irreversible line.

"You will lose a lot of blood, Lily."

"Shhh," she whispered, guiding his penis back into her moistness.

"Lily?" he moaned, enjoying the sensation of being back inside her.

"Only for a few seconds, please. I want to feel your cock inside me while you feed on me."

"How long have you had this strange fantasy?" Hunter asked with a smile.

"Since I discovered what you were."

"Yeah. I still wish that never happened. I was so sure I had locked the door that evening."

"I'm glad you left it open. A mistake that worked in my favor."

"Hmm," Hunter smiled as he scanned her eyes, and then the smile began to fade.

"What?" Lily asked, with a worried look.

"Lily are you sure you want this?"

"It's going to hurt. A lot," he said softly. "And I don't want to hurt you. I never will."

"I know. But I want this."

"Okay. Remember, you asked for this."

She responded with a nod.

With a quickness that startled even her, Hunter gathered her off the chair and into his arms, tucking one hand securely beneath the crook of her knees and the other behind her shoulders to support her weight.

She felt so light in his arms, and yet very protected. He placed her on his King Sized bed and kissed her forehead softly.

Noticing the sudden rapid rise and fall of her chest, Hunter paused.

"Lily, I'll ask again. Are you sure you want this?"

"Yes."

"Do you trust me?"

"Yes. I trust you," she whispered, letting herself ease into the moment and what she was about to experience.

With accuracy and precision, followed by a soft, wet click, Hunter's fangs dropped.

He leaned in, his breath hitching as he buried his face in the crook of Lily's neck. When he finally sank his teeth into her carotid artery, the world narrowed to a single point of contact.

Hunter let out a low, throaty moan,

a sound that seemed to be caught between the agony of feeding on the love of

his life, and the ecstatic rush of the feast.

Her blood was thick and startlingly hot, flooding his mouth with the metallic sweetness of life itself.

Hunter closed his eyes, savoring the steady pulse of Lily's blood against his tongue.

Lily let out a sound that was almost like a cry.

"Fuck me, please, Hunter."

He guided himself back into her, moving with ease as Lily held on tightly to his huge shoulders.

He didn't feed on her for long as it was likely that she would pass out if he did.

"You're dangerously tasty everywhere, Lily," he said with a smile, his tongue, catching the blood that trailed down the side of his mouth.

"I'm close. I'm so close!

"I want you to cum in my mouth," he said to her, smiling mischievously and slipping out of her. Hunter placed his lips on her clitoris and looked straight into her eyes.

He did not break eye contact for even a second. He savored her entrance with an eagerness that made Lily even more aroused.

His mouth was still warm from her

blood, but his fangs had made a retreat.

Whilst he sucked hungrily on her clitoris, he slid two fingers in and began to flick them gently inside her. Hunter liked his hands full whenever he made love to Lily.

He wanted every sexual encounter

with him to be unforgettable. If he could make her reach the very pinnacle of

sexual pleasure, something that surpassed an orgasm, he would. He was the

perfect lover.

Slowly, he moved his vacant hand up

the length of her torso and placed it on her breast, fondling it and causing her to take long gasps. A warmth traveled down her stomach and into her clitoris, getting hotter as it moved.

The same heat spread through her

entire body, making her shiver momentarily. She let out a loud and long moan,

digging her fingers into Hunter's hair.

When her moans softened, Hunter kissed her clitoris and flickered his tongue around it again, lifting his eyes to look up at her.

They both smiled at each other, so much so that even Lily's eyes smiled.

Hunter's smile however, was that of

triumph and satisfaction.

"I love you," she said softly, the words rolling easily off her tongue.

"I adore you. If I could build an altar only to worship you, I would," Hunter said, his smile had faded, and he appeared more serious.

"There you go again, capturing me

with your words, as if I'm not already yours."

"On second thought, maybe I should

build that altar."

They giggled at Hunter's words at

the same time.

He moved upwards and lay beside her.

For a moment, he stared wordlessly into her amber coloured eyes, allowing his

fingers wander into her hair, a long and luscious mop of black.

"You're the most beautiful thing in

my life Lily. I still hate myself a little for letting you into my world," Hunter finished softly, his thumb tracing the line of her jaw.

"You deserve better than this darkness."

Lily reached up and held his face. The small puncture wounds on her neck had already slowed their bleeding.

"Stop trying to save me from yourself, Hunter" she murmured. "I walked into your darkness with my eyes wide open."

He did not respond, but something moved behind his eyes. It looked like worry and unease. In it was a hint of gratefulness not easily noticeable, but it was there.

For four centuries, Hunter Blackwell had existed, moved through the world and seen many things.

He had witnessed empires rise and crumble. Burying so many friends and enemies over course of his long life however, had caused him to grow so accustomed to loss that he had eventually simply stopped allowing anyone too close.

At least, not close enough that losing them would mean anything to him.

Nothing was permitted to upset the balance of the perfectly quiet life he now had. Not until Lily showed up.

Until Lily's appearance in his life eight months ago, Hunter's routine had been repetitive and heartbreakingly boring.

He was the CEO of the most prestigious Architectural Firm in Chicago. A firm housed by the Blackwell Tower on the fourteenth floor. In the mornings, he went to a coffee shop a short distance from the building, and then went back to his office.

From his office, he stopped by his supplier at the City Hospital to collect blood bags and then he drove back home. His supplier was a young Doctor who was also a mother of two little girls.

Hunter knew there were others like him in Chicago, but had made no effort to make acquaintances or form friendships in the six years since he settled there. Unnecessary was what he considered it.

He craved nothing more than silence after the chaos that had been the past century of his life. And so he simply wanted to live in peace.

Alone.

Eight months ago, his need for silence came heavily under question when he laid eyes on a dripping wet Lily one morning. He had just come back from his usual ritual of getting coffee every morning in a shop not too far from the Blackwell Tower.

Early that morning, the air had felt heavy with the scent of damp earth, a tension only his heightened senses could detect.

Knowing the clouds were only moments from giving way to a heavy rainfall, he had strolled to the coffee shop with an umbrella.

He looked striking in a charcoal-black Tom Ford suit that clung perfectly to his frame.

With one hand tucked casually into his trouser pocket and the other steadying his dark colored umbrella, he walked confidently, in a manner that drew the very attention he did not want.

He was so good-looking that no one could walk past him without looking twice.

Lily was drenched head to toe from a summer rainstorm she had clearly not expected. It was the kind of rain that Chicago conjured without warning, heavy and relentless, as though the sky took a personal interest in catching people off guard.

Her deep blue dress which she had taken the time to iron that morning, was only a wet mess now.

She had pushed through the revolving door of the tower's lobby where she had an interview for a junior architect position at Blackwell Incorporated.

Looking up at the vast marble ceiling of the atrium, she stood frozen. She was the first person who caught Hunter's eye the moment he walked through the door.

And he stopped walking.

In the one hundred and sixty five years of his existence, very little had made Hunter stop walking.

"Excuse me," Hunter said politely.

"Hello," she turned around. Her almond-shaped amber eyes, made him stop abruptly. Thankfully he was now standing in front of her.

"You're drenched. Here," he said, draping his jacket over her shoulders.

"Thank you, Sir" Lily offered a smile. Her voice giving away the fact that she had started to shiver. She looked up at him.

His physique was impossible to ignore,

his shirt pulled taut across his broad and heavily muscled chest. He must have been no less than six foot and three inches tall, Lily thought to herself.

She wanted to ask what kind of rigorous discipline had shaped

a build like his.

But she didn't. She simply continued to smiled shyly.

"Please, call me Hunter."

"A very fitting name," she said under her breath."

"I'm sorry, I didn't hear that?" Hunter said, leaning downwards.

"Oh it was nothing. My name is Lily Sanders. Do you work here?"

"Something like that." Hunter smiled. "Forget about me. We should get you warm and dry. Follow me."

Lily liked the way that he had said "follow me,"

She could not tell why, but strangely, it tickled her.

When they arrived at his office, he pushed the door open and gestured to her to walk in first.

She did.

He grabbed the spare jacket hanging on the back of his door. It was navy blue and

seemed thoroughly ironed. Whilst holding it out to her, he said "Wear this for now. The bathroom's through there."

She took it without a word, just a small dip of her chin, and disappeared inside.

"I'll head down to the gym," he called through the closed door. "First floor has a laundry room. I'll give your things a spin in the dryer." He paused, his hand still resting on the doorframe. "Take your time."
