Chapter 1 - The story of my village

About a thousand years ago today. In a village surrounded by greenery in Bangladesh lived a powerful landlord. His name was Raja Shamsuddin. He was not only powerful but also a very kind and just ruler to his subjects. The people of the village loved him very much.

The only favorite person of the king was his queen—Rani Mehrun. Rani was very beautiful, kind and humble in nature. He often helped the poor people of the village. That's why everyone in the village respected him very much.

One day early in the morning the queen went out with her maids to bathe. At that time there was no big pond near the palace. So Rani went to take a bath in a nearby village pond. The pond belonged to a rich man in the village.

When Rani went down to the pond, the owner of the pond came there and angrily said,

"This pond is mine. No one can bathe here without permission."

Rani said very calmly,

"I am the queen of this village. I will take a bath for a while and leave."

But the man was very arrogant and said,

"Even a queen cannot enter this pond."

Rani was very sad to hear this. He silently returned to the palace without saying anything.

When the queen returned to the palace, her eyes were full of sadness. The king understood this and asked,

"What happened? Why are you so upset?"

The queen then told the whole incident to the king.

The king was very distressed to hear the insult of the queen. He thought to himself, "I will not tolerate anyone insulting my queen."

At that moment the king decided to dig a huge pond, which would be the largest pond in the region.

The work of digging the pond started from the next day. Workers were brought from far and wide. Hundreds of people started working day and night. The excavation continued for many months.

Finally one day a huge pond was formed. The pond was so big that the villagers had never seen such a pond before.

But the surprising thing is that even after the digging of the pond, no water rose there.

Days passed, weeks passed, months passed—yet the pond remained dry.

The king was very worried. The pond was dug so hard, but there is no water!

One night the king had a strange dream. A mysterious voice told him in his dream,

"The water will rise in this pond, but for that the queen must first descend into the pond."When he woke up, the king thought, is this really a sign?

The next day he told the queen about the dream. Rani thought for a while and said,

"If the water rises in this pond by my descent, I must descend."

On that day, the whole village people gathered beside that huge pond.

Rani slowly went to the middle of the pond and stood. Everyone watched with bated breath.

Suddenly a surprise happened!

Water slowly began to emerge from the ground around the pond. In a short time the pond started to fill up with clear water.

People screamed in surprise.

The elders of the village said,

"It is the power of the queen's sanctity and honor."

From that day the pond became known as "Queen's Pond".

Even today the villagers believe that this pond is not just a water body but a symbol of respect, love and dignity.

Times have changed, people have changed,But that story is still alive in the mouths of the people of the village.
