It was the first day of school after the holidays. The hallways were full of students laughing and talking. But for Aanya, it felt like just another normal day.
She walked into her classroom and sat in the last seat near the window. The cool morning breeze touched her face as she looked outside.
Suddenly, the classroom door opened.
A tall boy walked in. Everyone in the class became silent for a moment. No one had seen him before.
The teacher said, "Class, this is our new student."
The boy looked around the classroom. His eyes stopped on Aanya for a second.
Aanya quickly looked away, but her heart started beating faster.
Something about that boy felt… strange.
