______________

Amara Daniels stood in front of the massive iron gates of St. Augustine Royal Academy and felt her stomach twist with nerves.

The school looked nothing like the schools she had attended before. The buildings were huge and modern, made of shining glass and white stone. Expensive cars pulled up to the entrance one after another, dropping off students dressed in perfectly tailored uniforms.

Some even arrived in luxury sports cars.

Amara glanced down at her own uniform. It was the same design as everyone else's, but hers was second-hand and slightly loose.

She tightened her grip on her bag.

You earned this, she reminded herself.

Out of thousands of applicants, she had been one of the five students awarded a full scholarship. This school was her chance to change her future—and help her family.

Taking a deep breath, Amara walked through the gates.

The moment she stepped inside the campus, she felt the difference.

Students stood in groups, laughing and talking loudly. Designer bags hung from their shoulders, and expensive watches flashed on their wrists. Everything about them screamed wealth.

Amara kept her head down and walked toward the main building, hoping not to attract attention.

But it was hard not to notice the whispers.

"Who's that?"

"Is she new?"

"She must be one of the scholarship students."

Amara pretended not to hear them.

She followed the map she had been given until she reached the main hallway of the school. The floors were polished marble, and huge windows let sunlight pour into the corridor.

Just as she was about to continue walking, a sudden loud scream echoed through the hallway.

"Oh my gosh! He's here!"

Students began rushing toward the entrance doors.

Amara frowned.

What's going on?

Curious, she looked toward the crowd.

Outside the glass doors, a line of black luxury cars had stopped in front of the academy. Security guards quickly stepped out, scanning the area.

The students around Amara began whispering excitedly.

"It's him."

"His Royal Highness is here."

"My God, he's so handsome."

Amara blinked in confusion.

His Royal Highness?

The doors slowly opened.

A tall boy stepped out of the car.

For a moment, the entire hallway went silent.

He looked about eighteen, with dark hair that fell slightly over his forehead and sharp features that made him look almost unreal. His posture was straight and confident, like someone who had been trained to command a room.

He wore the same school uniform as everyone else.

Yet somehow, it looked completely different on him.

More powerful.

More intimidating.

Security guards walked behind him, but the boy didn't seem to notice the attention around him. His expression was calm… almost cold.

"That's Crown Prince Adrian Alexander," a girl whispered near Amara.

"The future king."

Amara's eyes widened slightly.

A prince?

Students immediately moved out of his path as he walked through the hallway. Girls stared at him dreamily while others tried to get his attention.

One girl pushed through the crowd confidently.

She had long blonde hair, perfect makeup, and wore the cheerleading jacket over her uniform.

"Adrian!" she said brightly.

The prince barely glanced at her.

But the girl didn't seem discouraged.

"That's Vanessa," another student whispered nearby. "Head cheerleader. She's been chasing the prince for years."

Amara shook her head slightly.

This place is insane.

She turned to leave before she got caught in the crowd.

But just as she stepped forward—

She accidentally bumped straight into someone.

Her books slipped from her hands and scattered across the marble floor.

"Oh no—!"

Amara quickly crouched down to pick them up.

A shadow fell over her.

Someone had stopped in front of her.

Thinking it was just another student, Amara quickly spoke.

"Sorry, I wasn't looking—"

She looked up.

And froze.

Standing directly in front of her…

Was Crown Prince Adrian Alexander.
