Chapter 2 – The Breath of the Void

The air of the Chaos Void Plane felt heavy.

Not suffocating—just dense, as if every breath carried something ancient within it.

Arin stood quietly on the endless gray plain, staring at the strange sky above him. The glowing sun and pale moon hung in place like unmoving lamps, casting a steady light across the land.

They looked real.

But they felt wrong.

Almost artificial.

"Artifact," Arin said slowly, "those things in the sky… are they real?"

The metallic cube floating beside him pulsed with faint light.

[Celestial bodies detected: artificial projections.]

Arin blinked.

"Projections?"

[True Concept Paths of Sun and Moon have not yet manifested within this region of the Chaos Void Plane.]

He stared upward again.

"So they're just… placeholders?"

[Correct.]

Arin let out a quiet breath.

This place truly followed different rules than his old universe.

Even the sky itself was incomplete.

He began walking.

The ground beneath his feet was smooth and strangely warm, like ancient stone that had absorbed countless years of heat.

But the warmth did not come from the artificial sun.

The artifact spoke again.

[Void Energy detected.]

Arin slowed his pace.

"Void energy?"

[Primary energy of the Chaos Void Plane.]

The cube projected a faint visualization in the air.

Invisible currents moved through the land like flowing water.

[Void energy nourishes Concept Seeds and supports the growth of worlds, realms, and dimensions.]

Arin watched the shifting currents carefully.

"So this energy creates worlds?"

[Correct.]

Arin's mind immediately began racing with possibilities.

Worlds that grow like plants.

Energy that feeds them.

Concepts evolving into power.

It was as if the Chaos Void Plane was some kind of cosmic garden.

Hours passed as Arin explored the area.

He noticed several strange phenomena.

Floating fragments of land drifting slowly in the distance.

Thin cracks in the ground where faint energy leaked out like mist.

And once, far away, he saw a ripple in the air as if space itself had briefly folded.

Everything here felt alive.

Not alive like creatures.

Alive like systems.

Eventually, Arin stopped walking.

Something in the air felt different.

He crouched down and stretched out his hand.

Faint golden particles drifted through the air like invisible dust.

At first they were barely noticeable.

But once Arin focused on them, they became clearer.

The artifact immediately reacted.

[Unknown energy signature detected.]

"Analyze it."

The cube glowed brighter.

[Scanning…]

Arin carefully touched one of the particles.

The moment he did, a faint whisper brushed against his mind.

Believe…

Arin instantly pulled his hand back.

His eyes narrowed.

"That wasn't imagination."

The artifact finished its analysis.

[Energy identified: Faith Energy.]

Arin froze.

Faith.

The word triggered something he remembered from the artifact's earlier information.

The God of Belief.

"You said this region once connected to a fallen god."

The cube responded.

[Historical record fragment: God of Belief.]

Arin stared at the golden particles floating in the air.

"If that god fell… why is this energy still active?"

The artifact remained silent for several seconds.

Then it displayed new information.

[Faith energy typically produced by collective belief from intelligent life.]

Arin slowly looked around.

The land around him was empty.

No cities.

No temples.

No people.

"Then this energy isn't coming from here."

The cube pulsed faintly.

[Logical deduction confirmed.]

Arin stood up.

If faith energy existed here without believers nearby…

Then it must be coming from somewhere else.

He closed his eyes and focused.

The golden particles were drifting slowly through the air.

But they were not random.

They moved in a direction.

Like a river flowing across the land.

Arin opened his eyes.

"They're traveling."

The artifact projected a faint map of the energy flow.

Golden streams stretched far beyond the horizon.

[Faith energy currents detected across multiple regions.]

Arin felt a strange chill run through him.

"So believers somewhere are generating this energy…"

"And it's all being sent somewhere else."

The cube responded calmly.

[High probability.]

Arin's mind immediately connected the pieces.

The God of Belief.

The faith energy.

The invisible rivers flowing through the Chaos Void Plane.

"If the god truly fell… these systems shouldn't still exist."

He looked toward the distant horizon where the golden currents disappeared.

The artifact processed the data.

Then it delivered a new hypothesis.

[Possibility detected.]

Arin crossed his arms.

"Let's hear it."

[The God of Belief may still exist.]

Silence filled the empty plain.

Arin wasn't shocked.

In fact…

He had already suspected it.

"So instead of ruling openly…"

"He's hiding."

The artifact continued its deduction.

[Faith Ascension Method likely distributed across multiple civilizations.]

Arin slowly nodded.

A method that allowed believers to generate divine power.

Faith energy that condensed into something more valuable.

Something capable of creating gods.

"Godhood crystals…"

The cube flickered.

[Concept recognized.]

Arin looked again at the golden particles drifting past him.

They were extremely small.

But when enough of them gathered…

They could become something extraordinary.

Power.

Divinity.

Ascension.

And somewhere out there…

Someone was collecting them.

Arin's lips slowly curved into a small smile.

Most people would feel fear knowing a hidden god might be manipulating countless worlds.

But Arin felt something else.

Curiosity.

Endless curiosity.

"If faith can create gods…"

He looked at the artifact floating beside him.

"Then I want to understand exactly how it works."

The cube glowed softly.

[Path of Knowledge – Progress detected.]

Arin turned toward the direction of the golden currents.

"Let's follow the river."

Far away…

Beyond the horizon…

Faith energy continued flowing silently across the Chaos Void Plane.

Toward something hidden deep within the endless Chaos.

Something ancient.

Something waiting.
