Chapter 3 - The Echo of Silence - Yuvraj's Sacrifice"

Winters in Punjab are notorious for their ruthlessness, especially when you lack the means to keep your home warm. In a small house within an old neighborhood of Ludhiana, the glow from an old computer screen faintly illuminated Yuvraj's face. The room was tiny, the walls were damp with seepage, and the streets outside were noisy—but inside Yuvraj's headphones, an entirely different world existed.

Yuvraj came from a very humble background. His father was a government clerk who had spent his life with honesty and limited resources. His mother, a homemaker, constantly worried about what her younger son did for hours locked in his room. Since childhood, Yuvraj was a boy of few words and a serious temperament; he was less interested in the world's idle chatter and more in connecting sounds to create melodies.

In Ludhiana's underground music scene, people knew him as 'Alok.' When he took the stage as Alok, his voice had an edge that pierced straight through the listener's heart. His rap didn't feature the flashy lifestyle of Punjab, but rather the burden of dreams, poverty, and the bitterness of society.

But behind 'Alok' was a Yuvraj fighting his own hunger. In his passion for learning music and composing tunes, he had often sacrificed his meals. During those days in Ludhiana, he frequently faced a bitter choice. Looking at the few coins in his pocket, he would think: "Should I satisfy my hunger today with two 'Aloo Tikkis' or a 'Kulcha-Chola,' or should I save this money for the bus to reach the studio where I might get a chance to record my tune?"

Often, music won and the stomach lost. The boy who could have been the 'Prince' (Yuvraj) of his home walked 10 kilometers on the freezing streets of Ludhiana on an empty stomach. The aroma of Dal-Tadka from roadside dhabas tempted him, but his focus remained on the 'beat' playing in his ears. When he reached home late at night, his stomach would cramp with hunger, but a new verse would be ready in his diary.

His father was strictly against his work. To him, music was just 'noise' ruining his son's future. One night, the argument escalated so much that his father, in a fit of rage, tore up the diaries where Yuvraj had preserved his poems and tunes for years. Seeing those torn pages, something broke inside Yuvraj—but something new was born too: a stubbornness that forced him to leave Ludhiana.

His elder brother, Aman, was the only one who could read Yuvraj's silence. He quietly slipped some money into Yuvraj's pocket and said, "Yuvraj, if you stay here, you'll only dream of a government job. Go to Mumbai, carve your own identity."

Yuvraj reached Mumbai, where Vikram Sahay's new company, 'Sitara Hit Music,' was conducting a national rap competition. Yuvraj participated and shook the judges with his music production and sharp lyrics. He secured the second position. When Vikram Sahay saw Yuvraj, he realized that this boy didn't just sing songs—he 'built' them. He signed Yuvraj as a producer. Yuvraj was happy, thinking he would just stay behind the scenes creating music; he had no idea Vikram planned to make him stand before the world.

November 7, 2010—this was the day Yuvraj first stepped into that simple dormitory. Mumbai's humidity was irritating him, and his mind was filled with thousands of questions. As he opened the room, his eyes fell upon a boy with a tall and steady face—Ishaan.

Ishaan looked up from his book and extended his hand toward Yuvraj. Yuvraj observed him closely. There was a calmness in Ishaan's words, while there was a fire in Yuvraj's eyes. Their personalities were like the North and South Poles, but music was their shared sky.

The early days weren't easy. When Yuvraj found out he had to be part of an 'Idol Group' and dance, he was furious. He told Vikram Sahay, "I came here to make songs, not to dance!" But Ishaan handled him.

Late at night, as they sat on a Mumbai rooftop talking, Yuvraj would share his pain: "Ishaan, my father thinks I've ruined my life. If we can't achieve something here, I won't be able to go back."

Ishaan replied calmly, "Yuvraj, your name means 'Alok' (Light). And the job of light is to pierce through the darkness. Together, we will create such a brilliance that the world will have no choice but to watch."

Gradually, Ishaan's wisdom and Yuvraj's musical sense formed an unbreakable bond. Yuvraj, who previously preferred working alone, was now strengthening the foundation of 'Sitara Hit Music' alongside Ishaan. They decided to show the world that real hip-hop isn't just noise; it's a soulful experience.

Yuvraj had now become something much more than 'Alok.' He was the 'Midas' of the group—whatever tune he touched turned to gold.
