"Its name is Gahom," the Watcher reported. "It means 'greed' in an ancient tongue. It was always the hungriest. The most ruthless. I thought it perished.
"Apparently not."
It will not listen. Will not learn. It only feeds.
Glad looked at the community—her family, her legacy, her love.
"Then we fight. Together. Like always."
The Watcher nodded grimly.
