Synopsis
Upon transmigrating into a world of cultivation, the protagonist finds himself as Luo Feng, the so-called “waste” of the Luo family. Being a direct descendant, he is ignored, scorned, and looked down upon, not only by the clan but also by the servants, who all treat him with disdain for his extreme lack of ability. To his fortune, his transmigration comes along with a mysterious Binding System, which arbitrarily chooses people to “bind” to. Through these “bonds”, Luo Feng acquires the ability to ‘power’ himself up, which is the only way one can ‘grow’ in a world where actual ability is everything. Others see a mediocre young master who would ultimately reach a dead end, while Luo Feng begins to create his own future—transforming relationships into power and eventually dominating a world that had formerly forgotten him.

Chapter 1 - Binding_1

The community courtyard had been silent, anticipating what had just happened. It had seemingly evaded notice from any of the community members up until what had just happened. Luo Feng was the only person calm without looking at the entrance. He said, still in quite an imperturbable manner, without any delays, angry, or even annoyed.

"You may come in."

The door released an eerie screech as the first comet slides loudly across the surface of the moon, and the first of many servants, guardians, employees to trespass the room as. They put there as there was some oddly deluded sense of ownership of the courtyard, housed as it were. Quickly, she scanned the room and positioned her stare directly at Luo Feng. He was calm and still as care or not, he not only chose to express calm apathy, but was also completely unaware of the something she was directly referencing. The silence, in fact, only enhanced the overall peaceful atmosphere of the room. It was as her rapacious countenance was displaying strong contempt, as there were no other servants, guardians, employees roaming the premises, and her lips displayed an annoyed imperturbable calm that brought peace and overall, the room in its totality and the atmosphere of the room to end the silence.

The servant's voice was insulting and flat.

"The Patriarch has commanded all direct descendants assemble in the main hall."

Luo Feng made a humming sound. It neither confirmed nor denied anything, but was enough to be considered an answer. The servant did not wait for a response, and turned away, leaving the courtyard. She left as she came, her pace slow and measured. It was as if she did not even acknowledge that a dialogue had just taken place.

Another silence fell.

Luo Feng was the first to speak once her footsteps faded. Exhalation, preceded by a sigh, was always an indicator of a burden, and for him it was a sigh of transmigration, and even if it was not his first, the oddity of a new place, a new self, still persisted. It was strange not being the Luo Feng of the Luo family, and from the first moment, the name that sounded prestigious, but in the clan, it was as good as nothing.

The Untalented Young Master was a name that would be used to describe him, as well as be the name that would be used to describe him. It was a name that he would never be allowed to hear, and it was a name that would never be spoken to his face.

His training was not exceptional.

He had little potential compared to others and was simply a liability, even if he was a direct descendant of the Luo family. He received contempt even from the servants of the house. The Luo family was quite large, and within their hierarchy, everything had a pecking order. Having power meant you earned respect, and with respect came a better standard of treatment.

Luo Feng had neither power nor status, so he was never offered genuine respect. The subordinates felt a sense of safety in their disdain, believing that someone of such a low standing would never be punished, especially being someone the family had cast aside.

Contempt was all they had, and they used it freely.

Luo Feng stood up, though he had to force the feeble body he was in. Just standing took more energy than he had, but he remained upright and straight, walking with the intent of reaching the main hall. He had to go there, as staying away would only worsen the situation.

The large assembly hall was already full when Luo Feng arrived. Clan members and a few guests occupied every single seat along the sides of the hall.

Quiet voices expressed the feeling of the whole audience.

Across the hall, farthest back, raised above the others, sat Luo Bo, the Head of the Luo Clan. His expression was like a glacier. With a face that displeased him, the extreme edges were clearly delineated. He was sitting straight, his hands resting on the armrests.

An older man was standing in front of him, an elder of the Huang family. His expression was one of extreme concentration, displeasure, and anger, the critical moment just before an explosion.

"Elder Fang," Luo Bo's voice was calm and commanding. "The engagement of Luo Yuexi and Huang Lei will be annulled."

The hall was muted, and the tension was clearly horrible.

Huang Fang's expression completely changed. His jaws clenched and his eyes flashed. Everything had appeared to be in perfect order. The engagement had been accepted by both families, and the two youngsters had shown real interest in one another.

And then the opportunity came.

Luo Yuexi was chosen by a sect. In turn, the event caused the dynamics of the situation to completely change. The Luo family seized the opportunity and broke the engagement, claiming the Huang family didn't deserve to be part of it any longer.

For Huang Fang, this was especially difficult.

Huang Lei, on the other hand, was as calm as the next man. Huang Lei was able to walk completely unbothered. While he was unbothered, it felt like he was resigned to the situation.

The main doors then opened and the sound provided a distraction to all the people at the entrance.

Luo Feng entered the hall.

His clothes were simple and plain, standing out from most of the others there, and he lacked the obvious arrogance and sense of entitlement that a direct descendant was supposed to have.

He walked ahead, his eyes scanning the hall and the seating arrangements. He looked at the familiar faces, and the supposed accusatory glances in the room.

Now he was looking at Huang Lei.

For a brief moment, everything in the room disappeared and it was as if Luo Feng had centred his attention on just one person.

Then, out of the blue, he felt a certain presence in his mind.

[Detected a suitable host to bind. Would you like to proceed?]
