Chapter 10 - The Three Unluckiest Men

"Hey, hey, hey, two beautiful ladies. Want to have some fun with us?"

Amon, Asahi, and Sakura turned around at the same time. When they saw three men in armor, their expressions darkened.

"What do you want?" Asahi asked bluntly.

She looked them up and down, already understanding why they had come. Still, she pretended not to know, wanting them to make their intentions clear.

The three men stood side by side—a red-haired man on the right, a blond in the middle, and a blue-haired man on the left.

They wore full silver armor, and each carried a different weapon: a spear, a sword, and a bow.

"Don't be so fierce, beautiful lady. We just want to get acquainted. That's not forbidden, is it?" The blond in the middle waggled his eyebrows as if teasing Asahi.

His lewd, repulsive smile made Asahi feel sick. She waved her right hand dismissively. "Get out of my sight. You three are disgusting."

Her words made the three men freeze. A moment later, the red-haired man snapped out of it and barked, "Are you looking down on us? We're C-rank transcendents! My older brother is B-rank!"

He pointed proudly at the blond man and continued with a mocking tone, "How dare you low-ranked girls insult us? Do you want us to make it difficult for you to enter the dungeon?"

The threat in his voice was unmistakable, and Asahi and Sakura's faces turned grim.

The law of the strong devouring the weak existed not only in hell but on earth as well. Perhaps it applied in every world.

Stronger transcendents often bullied the weaker ones—or worse… killed them.

This was nothing unusual. Government authorities often turned a blind eye to such matters.

Amon suspected they were doing it deliberately to avoid unnecessary conflict.

After all, transcendents were troublesome individuals, blessed with extraordinary power.

Even an S-rank could destabilize a government. For that reason, the authorities tried to minimize their involvement in such disputes.

Of course, if the conflict escalated, the security bureau would step in—but only if it grew large enough to disturb the public.

Amon studied Asahi and Sakura's expressions and let out a soft sigh.

'Wherever you are, being weak is a sin,' he muttered.

He didn't mean to belittle the twin sisters. After all, he had already promised himself that he would protect them—no matter what.

"So, if you don't want to come with us, don't blame us for getting rough," the blue-haired man said, licking his upper lip.

The other two nodded in agreement. Their eyes lingered on Asahi and Sakura's figures, and they swallowed hard.

There was no denying their nearly perfect proportions. Their figures were generous in all the right places, balanced by slim waists and toned stomachs.

The striking contrast was enough to make any man lose his composure.

"You three…" Asahi growled, about to step forward, but Amon pulled her back first.

His tall frame instantly made the three men seem smaller. Amon stood at 1.93 meters, while none of them even reached 1.80.

As he stepped forward, the three men stiffened. An invisible pressure weighed down on them.

However, they forced themselves to remain calm. The blond-haired man puffed out his chest and said irritably, "Move aside, buddy. If you don't want to get hurt—or killed—don't interfere."

Arrogance flickered in his eyes. He sensed no transcendent aura from Amon and assumed he was nothing more than an ordinary man.

"Oh… really?" Amon smirked faintly. "What if I refuse?"

Whoosh!

The air around them grew heavy as the temperature suddenly dropped.

The blond-haired man froze, his body refusing to move. His eyes widened in terror as he saw something horrifying behind Amon—a monster.

It stood nearly five meters tall, resembling a massive black tiger with two crimson eyes burning in the darkness.

Two horns curved from its head, and a jet-black eye stared from the center of its forehead.

Blood trickled from all three eyes, and the sight made the man feel as though his soul were being dragged out by an unseen force.

"Forgive… me… forgive me…"

His voice trembled in despair. His chest felt crushed, as if a thousand-kilogram boulder were pressing down on him.

The red- and blue-haired men were stunned.

They exchanged confused glances. Then the red-haired man stepped closer and grabbed his shoulder.

"Brother, what's wrong?"

The moment he was touched, the blond-haired man snapped back to his senses.

His face turned deathly pale, as if he had just seen a ghost. He stumbled back and shouted, "Forgive me! Forgive me! Don't follow me!"

Everyone nearby was stunned. His scream was loud enough to draw the attention of passersby.

"What… what just happened?" Asahi asked in confusion, scratching her head.

Just a moment ago, the blond man had been perfectly fine. Now he looked utterly terrified.

The red- and blue-haired men didn't dare to stay any longer. Their earlier desire to toy with Asahi and Sakura vanished without a trace.

Without another word, they turned and fled, leaving the twin sisters standing there in confusion.

Amon glanced at them and said calmly, "Come on, let's go."

Without waiting for an answer, he walked ahead. All eyes followed him.

It wasn't only his striking appearance that drew attention—but also what had just occurred.

No one knew what the blond-haired man had seen. But everyone was certain it had something to do with the handsome, black-haired man.

Sakura quickly caught up to Amon, a bright smile on her face.

"Did you do something to him?" she asked curiously.

Amon slipped his left hand into his pocket and replied casually, "Yeah, I did. Nothing serious."

Sakura giggled at his relaxed response. For some reason, the veil of mystery surrounding Amon seemed to grow thicker.

But instead of boring her, it intrigued her even more. She wanted to know more about him—to peel back each hidden layer.

Maybe one day, she would uncover something truly surprising.

Asahi finally snapped out of her daze and followed after them. Though her expression remained calm, her thoughts were in turmoil.

'Amon…' she murmured, her gaze fixed on his back. 'Who are you, really?'
